Can you walk to the parks form this hotel. How far it is? We have stayed at the Grand Californian and liked the location. Wanting to try the Disneyland Hotel, but concerned about location.

Thanks for any insight :thumbsup2

It is at end of DTD. It is unlikely that you will even see a vehicle.

Susie, have you stayed there? What are your thoughts of the location? Not overly familiar with Disneyland...Grand Cali is in the middle of DTD would you say?

You can walk form the DLH, it's about 10-12 minutes depending on which towere and wher within it your room is. You walk through the length of DTD to get to the front gates of either DL or DCA.

You can also take the Monorail who's DTD station you walk by, but it drops you off in Tomorrowland and will most likely NOT save time but possibly steps.

I have stayed there. We stayed in an unrenovated suite on the 12th floor(WOW!)for a couple nights and then moved to a renovated standard. I was lucky to experience the original before the renovations.
The DLH is beautiful. Mickey Mouse is every where in the details. The walk is not more than 5 minutes from the Grand. The DLH is also very close to the only stop outside the park for the monorail. We used it a lot, especially at night. So nice to get off and be 2 minutes from the hotel. Although a lot of people will say that they are either not running, slower or just not convienient....we loved them. make sure you ask the conductor if you can ride up front with the engineer:banana:
I wish we were staying there next time because my dd would LOVE the new pools, but DH wants to stay in the Villas. Next time maybe....
In the stickies at the top of the thread, there is one for maps and that will give you a good idea of location.
Hope that helps:wizard:

We just got back on Saturday night from a week long stay at the DLH hotel. We stayed in the Adventure Tower which is the closest tower to Downtown Disney and Disneyland.

The walk first thing in the morning isn't bad at all because Downtown Disney is empty. In the afternoon or evening it feels like it takes FOREVER though because you are dodging hoards of people. We really didn't like the evening walk...then again, we weren't shopping or doing anything along the way--all we wanted to do was get back to the hotel.

The hotel is wonderful--the walk back really was our only complaint and we could have taken the monorail from Tomorrowland and avoided that if we had wanted to do so...the monorail stop is within eyesight of the hotel.

It's about the same distance as walking to the closest hotels on Harbor Blvd. if that helps. Easy walk and if you just didn't want to you could take the monorail part of the way.

We stayed at DLH in 2009 and when we return in 2012, we will book DLH again. I loved the walk from the hotel through DTD to the park. In the mornings it wasn't very busy and I loved that I did not have to worry about any cars (as you would with off-site) so the kids could run around a bit.
The walk back after the parks was great too as it is very festive with music playing. We would often shop or stop for dinner in DTD on the way back.
Depending when you are going, with the room refurb and the pool being re-done, it should be extra amazing.

I am in the senior citizen range, and I have no problem walking from the DLH to the entrance...I also love the walk through DTD.
Every once in a while we will take the monorail in the evening...When we stayed at the GCH we had a room overlooking DTD and that walk was just as far as the walk we do staying at the DLH...jc

The walk took me less than 10 minutes and it's a very pleasant walk. That is my fav thing at DL how close everything is. When we go to wow nothing is convenient to walk to.
