Disneyland Hotel or Sheraton Anaheim?

I have a reservation at the Disneyland Hotel for December 23rd with an AP rate of $238.00 for an upper level resort view. The CM said I would be able to watch the DL 9:30pm fireworks from my room.

I was wondering if this is the way I should go, or should I book the Sheraton Anaheim which I could stay at on SPG points or a rate of about $150.00?

It will be myself and my DD5. We are planning on being in the park during the day and returning to the room for the fireworks in the evening. Then attending a character breakfast in the morning.

Anyone know of a better rate? EXPEDIA was a litlle higher than the AP rate I received. I am curious as to your opinions. TIA!

definetly!! They have so much more to offer and it is great being so close. The sheraton annaheim rooms are a little run down and you have to take a car to get to disneyland. Hope this helps...........goof

I also have stayed at both but if money is not an issue, the DLH is much better for covenience and puts you right in the middle of the magic. I think the Disney hotels always add to the experience.

If you are strictly interested in staying on property then the DLH is close by.
I personally prefer the Sheraton. I stay there all the time and usually never pay more than $89.00 per night booked on SPG.com with AAA rate. This is for a great room. They have HUGE rooms-way bigger than DLH's. With a couch and seperate sitting area. The shuttle is great - runs every half hour or you can walk although it is almost 1 mile.
I stay there because I like to earn Starpoints and frankly I think DLH is a rip off when it is priced high (over $125 a night) - but that's just my opinion and I am sure it is one that many disagree with. I have earned almost 5000 starpoints for my upcoming trip to WDW next Spring!!!
I stayed at Sheraton last weekend and it was great - quiet and spacious.
As far as the rooms being run down - I have not found that to be true but maybe we have just been lucky. True it's not a new hotel but neither is DHL and I have stayed in some less than pristine rooms there over the years. Value for money Sheraton is better - if staying on property is more important then you can't go wrong with any of the DL properties.

Definitely for a woman & child, you can't beat staying at the DL Hotel. The convenience and proximity is too good!
