I am trying to plan a trip to Disneyland as a surprise for my children this Easter. They are girls aged five and ten. Because this is so last minute, I cannot get a room at GC. We have never been to Disneyland but have been to WDW many times. I want this to be special for them. Which would you recommend? Thanks for any assistance you can give me!

I have stayed at both and I would definitely recommend DLH. The Hilton is nice, but not that nice, and is geared more to convention goers rather than kids. The Hilton is close to a mile walk to the park, and DLH takes less than half that time, plus you are walking through DTD so you feel like you are in Disney the whole time. Your girls will love the DLH!

I absolutely agree. Staying at the Hilton is like staying at a Hilton. Staying at the DLH is like being on a Disney vacation. I think you, and especially your girls, will much find the DLH much more special.

I'm with the others. At those girls' ages, you'll definitely want to stay at the DLH. It's really got a Disney feel to it, and it's closer than the Hilton. You'll also be right by the monorail, which is nice for getting into Disneyland.

Have fun!

Once I saw the replies, it was obvious that this decision is a no-brainer. I booked the DLH and and could not be more excited. I know that the girls will love it. Thanks for the advice!
