Has anyone ever used DVC points to stay at the Disneyland Hotel in Paris? If so, how did that work out?

We will be in Paris in July. We are considering spending a few nights, but not sure there would be any advantage to renting points vs paying cash.

Curious to know more...

Do I understand that right, you would rent points for your stay?

I visit Disneyland Paris at least every two years and will do so again in March. As we became DVC memebers last September I briefly considered staying on points at the Disneyland Hotel, but decided against it when I saw the point chart. During the week a night would hve cost 66 points, no park tickets included.
Th cash reservation cost about 1100 Euros (there is almost always some kind of promotion offered on on of the European sites, this time it was the Belgian site, not sur if Americans can book there) for two nights and two three day park tickets.
So, if you pay 10$ per point, it would be 1320$ for two nights plus the 95$ fee and you would have to buy park tickets on top of that.
I would look for promotions (there are a few for Summer 2015, for example on the UK and the Netherlands site) and check if you are eligible to book them, it should be cheaper than staying on points.

Thanks so much for your reply. You answered my question and confirmed by suspicion. We will be on the look out for a promo on the UK and the Netherlands sites.

all the countries have different promos so check them all. the french site usually has really good ones. We Went last february through the Swedish site with kids under 12 stay and play for free. I would not use my Points for the vacation as it can be really cheap if you Catch the offer.
