2 weeks to go!

Hi
Off to DLP with wife and two kids aged 8 and 3. I was hoping for some help regarding our trip. We have been once before, Halloween 3 years ago at the Cheyenne, and apart from terrible weather we had a great time.
This time after reading some of your terrific trip reports we have decided to splash out on the Disneyland Hotel (standard room). A few questions:
Does breakfast include any hot food, or is it similar to the usual continental style at the Hotel Cheyenne. If so can I pay a supplement to upgrade?
Can someone tell me the cost of the dinner buffet, child prices etc at Inventions?
I really want to have lunch one day at either Blue lagoon,
L'auberge de Cendrillon or Walts but I'm put off by a lot of your posts regarding slow service at Table Service restaurants. The kids are generally very good eating out and enjoy sitting at the table,
but I can't see it lasting for over 2 hours!
Also if we book Blue Lagoon will we feel out of place dining with our young kids or do other families go there?

That's all for now, but I'll probably be back with more questions later!
Thanks in advance for any help
Regards

Riccardo

I remember the breakfast had lots of pastry, crossiants, rolls, sliced ham, sliced mortadella, sliced salami, lots of yogurts, soft boiled eggs with shell, scrambled eggs, sausages, cereal, god awful fruit salad! Remember to go to breakfast early for great character photos and autographs.

The character dinner at Inventions was NOT tasty. There were hot food but I recall a lot of mediterranean cold salad/pastas. I think the child price was about $27 and the adult was around $50. There were a lot of playing and picture taking with a few characters (goofy, minnie, 2 mouses (not mickey & minnie), the bad guys from pinocchio, and these characters came out more than once). Not a lot of visitors eating at Inventions when we went. I think you would enjoy Chef Mickey at Disney Village more - also less expensive. Your kids may get a kick out of the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show.

The best place to view the parade at Disneyland Park is seating on the stone benches in front of the Pooh Stage on the right hand side of the Castle. You can sit on the benches just behind the roped area. No one can block your kids and the cast members guarding this area is good about not letting people get in front of the roped area.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips Cynthia.
I have booked Buffalo Bill for our 1st night. Really looking forward to that! I plan eating at Inventions on the 2nd night, and hopefully we will have a better experience there than you had. 3rd night's dinner undecided.
Great tip regarding a spot to watch the parade!

Thanks very much.
