In your experience, what is the difference between Deluxe vs Premium?

the dates I’m looking into has a deal for premium view.

Every stay has been vastly different. I’m not so concern about our view but the room size.

We’ve had a tiny room (no couch/bed to the window) in the Adventure Tower (2nd floor). And then a perfect room also in the Adventure Tower (4th or 6th floor). Frontier Tower with a tiny bathroom and closet (sink/closet is separate from the shower/tower. And a regular room with a large bathroom with a double sink.

I just want a predictable normal size room. We are a family of 4 and generally do spend a lot of time in our room. The hotel room options are by view and not room size.

You're right. The designation for deluxe and premium is usually about the view and not the room size.

My suggestion is to make a request for the largest size room in the category you want (most of the premium view rooms are on the DTD side of the Adventure tower). Most of the rooms in the DLH are good-sized, so if you get to your room and it's small, go back to the desk and ask for a larger one. I've had to do this once and they were very accommodating. I don't understand putting a family of 4 in one of the tiny rooms, honestly, but don't be afraid to be the squeaky wheel if it happens again.

Thanks for your reply. I’ll be sure to do that. I had always assumed it was a Tower distinction. I think the one time I did request a tower, I actually got the tiny room. :( I didn’t feel like making a fuss. But really, I should have said something

(my guess is that someone else complained about it too. Because an Adventure tower request was originally unavailable)

I suspect you're right! Once, when I went with my sister, we were given a super tiny room in the Fantasy Tower over a parking lot. I've been to DLH many, many times, both with my sister and my family of 5, and I've never seen a room that small! I think there was a little bit of space left over from where the elevator bank was placed and they made the weirdest room I've ever seen. It was way down the hallway, and when you opened the door to go inside, there was just a long hall that emptied into a room so small it barely fit a bed. I'm not even sure it was queen sized, that's how small it seemed. There was no room for other furniture. The bathroom was off of the entry/hallway but I honestly don't remember it at all. We just said, "Nope!" and went straight back down to the desk. I mean, if you're going to give out a room that size, then it had better come with some perk to make it worthwhile or cost a whole lot less. The desk clerk did not seem surprised when we came back down and requested a different room. This time, we were given a beautiful 1/2 suite (it had a little keyed entry and from there, 2 keyed doors and our key only opened one of them) on a higher floor of the Adventure tower with a DTD view. It really was magical and unexpected, as we'd only booked a standard view room and weren't trying to be upgraded, but you don't spend that kind of money to be shoved in a closet LOL.

It is the view and floor. Deluxe are usually lower floor pool view. Premium is usually DTD view or higher floor pool view.

FWIW regarding view categories for "Club" Rooms at DLH....since I just found this out for myself and it might be helpful for someone else...
There are two Club categories, Standard View and Premium View.
ALL "Club" rooms are located on the top three floors of the hotel (which is floors 9-11 of the Adventure Tower, where the Club is located).
"Standard" view for Club means you face the pool.
"Premium" view for Club means you face Downtown Disney.

Just to clarify here, we have had a club standard room on the 5th floor, a premium room on the 8th floor facing the pool, and have even in another tower.

For further reference, I'd thought I'd add a photo of one of our smaller rooms. Adventure Tower / Standard. Facing the walkway. If you noticed the bed is against the window. And there is only a desk and no chair or couch.
