Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend 2009 - WISH meet

The fires will absolutely NOT be an issue. They are over 40 miles from DL (and btw, they are not all that close to the Hollywood Bowl, either.) They are practically in my backyard, but over the last few days, the crews have made great progress on containment. My guess is that folks coming in from out of town won't notice any difference whatsoever. though you may see the fires when you fly into LAX, depending on where you are coming from

Travel safe everyone, and good luck on Sunday, weather looks to be great (a good 20 degrees cooler than it was last Sunday!), and the air should be no worse than it usually is here in SoCal

Aloha! We have been in Disneyland since yesterday (Monday). Great time so far. Read the race warning on air quality. Air has been hazy so far, but I have not had any problems with the quality. Then again, I'm a midwesterner with clear skys! Not accustomed to the smog/haze. I did a 4 mile run around the DL property (outside the "big block") and didn't have issues other than dodging a few pedestrians on the way. It was hot though, probably 85F.

Great news today, I see the air quality has really improved, showing green/good now in Anaheim! The temps have creeped up a little more, showing a high of 85 on Sunday, but we'll all be done by then,

Prelim 5K report, crowded course but the course was fun, humid..I have decided never to even think about unning hte whle 5K unless you get up near the front.....Just owith the flow and have fun.
