Hi Wendy.......my new best friend!
The Fast pass is certainly an option, but if you already have your park tickets, I believe you can get a giftcard for the cost of a one-day admission. In FL, I got one for $75.....probably a little less in CA. You can use it for any merchandise at the parks or hotel gift shops. They will not let you use it for food. I bought myself a nice souvenir (a Mickey garden gnome) and still have money left over for my next trip. I'm not sure if the WDW card is good at DL and vice versa, but you can ask. It's your birthday, you may as well treat yourself to something nice.
Front of the line pass or $75... I'll pick riding with my friends. (You see why DH the budgeteer is hopelessly frustrated with me????) Remember though that Monday is my birthday, so if no one is hanging around, then I'll get the cash, I guess...
I do not yet know what we have planned, but Scott and I will try to stop by Jamba Juice at least one of the nights to say Hi to everyone!
This will be our first ever DL trip. Sat and Sun we will have park hoppers and plan to be inside for much of it. I'm definitely looking forward to meeting up with folks and we'll be looking for everyone. I'll try to be at the meet-up places where we can. We will be doing our best to jam in as much as we can for the short weekend trip.
I don't know about going into the parks right after the event. I understand that there will be time to enjoy the parks since they are smaller than WDW so I'm heading for a change of clothes and a refreshing shower.
I didn't see a general DL 1/2 Marathon thread, so I hope it's okay that I post this here...
For those who have done the race before, do you ever go straight into the parks after finishing? Other than being stinky and sweaty, I can't think of any reason why I'd need to go back to the hotel first before hitting the parks. Normally I'm not up early enough for rope drop, but after the race seems like a good opportunity to get in and avoid the long wait for the popular rides.
