Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

That’s hilarious, I didn’t know we couldn’t mention that chat app that gamers use, especially since it’s a normal word that means strife or disagreement 😂😂

Undercover Tourist was banned from being mentioned for awhile. It made it really hilarious when trying to talk about the state of UT. Since many use UT as shorthand for Undercover Tourist, it was flagged as not being allowed 😬

I've gotten in the habit of trying to remember to preview comments I make to check for banned words I might not have thought of.

Glad so many were able to get in for yoga! Also shocked how long it stayed open!

Some places I can understand, they're competing with DU for travel agent dollars. But why no sewing *******?

Someone reminded me why the starred site got starred. It was when Ryan got the boot from here. He and some of his friends went to the chat service, so, this site blocked said word.

Not sure why I didn’t get the email yet (maybe it’s in batches) or because I updated POT yesterday and already signed the waiver?

Anyway, looks like they also updated race start times and expo hours on the RunDisney website

Did they say where the expo will be? I booked on-site assuming the races and expo would be next to the Disneyland hotel but now considering switching hotels.

edit: Sorry, just got the email!

Interested to see how exactly you get to that start location. Like which way will the corrals be set up? Can you approach on foot from either direction on Disney way?

Do we usually get waivers this early? It's been a few years since my last runDisney event but I vaguely remember getting them much closer to the race.

Just emailed out, start locations. Oooh! Is Disney Way a new start location? Seems good for those of us staying on Harbor, eh?

Dang, I think the walk between Castle Inn and the start/finish on Disney Way will be shorter than the walk from the bus drop-off to the start/finish at Epcot 😄😄 Glad I picked it

First thought on the email is panic because as mentioned up thread can’t do over a mile walk. And the 5k walk over won’t be fun but the 10k/half ain’t doable

At least I have the contact for the disability coordinator still.

Also anyone else realize this means the 10k and 1/2 are looping routes?

Ohhhhh I like this info! I'm at the JW on Katella, and you can walk right through the outdoor mall to Disney Way from there. I'd been watching rates in case I wanted to move closer to the parks, but not. now!

I was also wondering if this is a new start location! I booked Disneyland Hotel because I thought it normally started over there. Maybe I can save a little $ by moving to a Harbor hotel - if any are left!

Also I’m just now remembering how the 5k park starts used to go and I really hope they already have some plans for wheelchairs because how it used to be was you just load in and you start from there. There weren’t proper corrals or they never tried enforcing it can’t remember which. And I can’t imagine trying to navigate a packed Main Street with a WC and I don’t know how we could get through the Emporium

I'd guess that the direction racers start will be westward but I don't think anyone can predict how they'll handle corrals, security has gotten significantly tighter since they ran races out there. Obviously I'd prefer my walk to the start to be a block away (!!!).

The more I think on this the more I’m wondering if someone didn’t talk fully with coordination because where are the locals going to park? Used to be people would just park over in Mickey and Frieends. But now that’s completely on the opposite side and I don’t think the mall there is that big to be honest.

And I get DL Forward is a thing so eventually they’ll have all the infrastructure for a good starting area. But that’s all in the early planning phases. Why move it to a spot that you don’t have the infrastructure to support it yet?
