Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

Regarding the photo pass photographers, there just aren't that many in general in Disneyland. I was shocked how many are in WDW. While waiting for the super zoom in Epcot the person in front of me was chatting to the photographer, and he said he wanted to be one. The photographer answered try WDW, as there are 600 jobs but only 50ish is Disneyland. I don't know if he was exaggerating but it kinda makes sense. Photo pass is more of a bonus at Disneyland while a whole separate money maker at wdw.

We were thinking the same thing yesterday in the parks. I understand why Photopass is included with Genie+ at DL - there just aren’t any photographers. We were in DL/DCA for 14 hours and ended up with 5 shots + 2 attractions. We were really surprised.

I’m going to be really hesitant to buy the pictures for the race tomorrow if there aren’t a lot of PP photographers on the course.

I got a grand total of 3 on course photos, and a terrible finish line pic where I’m behind a bunch of people. And then my 2 character stops with Launchpad and Chip & Dale (because I always stop for chipmunks!! )

So many emotions! A member of one of the Facebook groups I'm in was willing to sell me her 10k medal replica pin at cost. Apparently she accidentally pre-ordered the whole pin bundle when she's only doing the half and was okay parting with it.



So only a couple things I missed out on. But Peking got his medals and I'm at peace with how things turned out . If the others happen to fall into my lap, I'll consider myself very very lucky.

Now to figure out how I'm dealing with all those magic feathers I brought for DDD people

I got a total of one on course and I have an unimpressed face! Not hopeful for more since I’ve linked friends’ bibs and they all have multiple on course photos already. The course photographers I actually saw, the photographers were still fiddling with settings on the camera and were pointing at the ground, on BOTH sides Plenty of finish cameras so at least there’s that. I get that they have less photopass CMs but I get more photos at local races! If I didn’t stop for a few pics I’d be super bummed! You’d think they could spring for some more photographers and security…I hear they have way less runners this year than typically for DL, so sounds like they need to do a lot of work before the Halloween race to improve the experience. It wasn’t awful by any means but left a lot to be desired!

My phone photos came out better than the ones with photopass. We added genie+ to our park tickets when they ran the 20% target/tripadvisor deal. I’d be pissed if I paid money for this crap. Usually there are multiple action shots, but nope. Not here. Here’s the one photo I took while you blinked

Well that was a race... the course fantastic! Still my fav course with all the park time. But rundisney race logistics sucked soo bad... having to walk through two security lines.. and the line was soo long and then became pointless when they just passed us through. Never made it to meet up with u guys since by the time I got through the line it was time to go to the corrals. I am so hoping they fix some of the that by tommorow .

And then like no photo passes and all the characters being ducks?? I felt like I was running last years marathon weekend... and the lines were soooo long. I only got 1 real character pic (with the ugly duck) and I was in coral c... I got a lot of bad selfies at different places and that includes the bugs statues so I could get something....

I did love the parade floats out back... they canceled parades for us so at least they showed some of them to us.
I just could not believe there was no I did it photos at the end. They did have them in 2016... I have a photo of it that use...

And then having to wall through security again just to walk to my hotel.... bah...

I am just soo disappointed with this race...

Luckliy I am here for my sons birthday and I have been having alot of fun in the parks with them. Like we have met soo many characters in the parks at least... but very few with photopass photographer so still keeping with that theme. Also the cms at Pixar place have been soo nice and wonderful. Been loving them so there are many bright spots. But I know Disneyland races can be better... I have seen in 2016.

I agree, and had a great experience at Tink 2017. I kind of understand the lack of photopass in the parks as the character interactions are more spontaneous. I caught the coolest moment over by Small World today with Mary and Bert dancing with guests to the New Orleans band!

I love Disneyland for that! But that's hard to replicate on the course. WDW does the race photos so well, and I know they have WDW rD brass here to run things. It has to just be a matter of DL not being prepared with staff and training.
