We will be in California for business and we were thinking about using points to book a room at the Grand Califorinian for one night stay. We have never been to Disneyland:confused3 . Any tips or information would be greatly appreciated.

If you stay at the Grand Califorinian you can sign up for a morning power walk with a cast member. They take you inside the park before it is open. It was wonderful. We were also allowed to enter the park a 1/2 hour early to ride soaring. I read this on this boards, never did see or hear anything about it at the hotel and even asked a cast member who didn't know if this was true. But we lined up 1/2 hour before opening and they let us in. There were only a handfulll of us. We got to ride int he front seat. What a great way to start a day.

We're staying at the GC next week on points (we splurged for concierge as we had a bunch of points due to expire). We'll certainly be happy to post anything we discover while we're out there. And if anyone else has any other tips, well, we're all ears... :rotfl2:

You'll love concierge. I don't truly believe it is worth the money unless you have a big group, but if your points were going to expire then enjoy it. They have warm scones/shortbread shaped like mickey heads with jam in the afternoon. I love those. I don't think that there is anywhere else that you can get them. Also they have DVDs that you can borrow. Also if you have any children, at night they have like little slumber parties for them to watch movies and such.
If I was trying to just stay at the Grand, I would book a standard room because they are all the same size, bascially small. J/K. Some standard rooms have nice views of the couirtyard. Ask to be by an elevator, because some halllways are really long especially after a loooong day. Have fun.

The GC is wonderful. We had a view of the Downtown area and it was perfect. We would sit on the balcony and listen to the music at night. We were even able to see the fireworks from our balcony as well. It was an amazing experience.
