Disneyland Game for Kinect!!!

Awesome, I watched it 5 times. Since I was a little kid I have always wanted a Disneyland video game. I remember playing Walt Disney World Quest:Magical Racing Tour non-stop till my Dreamcast broke. I happen to be a Disney fanatic and a video game nerd so the 2 together have always been a dream for me. I can't wait to see more tomorrow. I showed my wife the video afraid she would be mad at me cause we bought a PS Move instead of a Kinect but instead she said, "well, now we have to buy a Kinect".

C'est excellente. I may never remember VMK after I play that. And SW looks pretty good too.

For those who understand French - what is the game about?

This game looks awesome, I'm excited I bought the kinect just last month :)

I can't wait. It's too bad I get hate for loving Disney soo much. I mean I go on other forums, mainly video game forums, and anything Disney gets bashed on so much. I don't get it. I do however think they kids they got to demo the game were horrible, as in they came off too fake and there reactions were too choreographed. Oh, well people can hate me all they want for loving a company that made my Grandpa happy, my parents happy, me happy, and now my kids happy, because I know me and my kids will have days of fun playing this game. :cool1:

VMK was so cool back in the day.

The Disneyland game looks pretty cool, hopefully it'll span the entire park though considering we've only seen Fantasyland. The Haunted Mansion ahd Pirates, please! :goodvibes

Besides the cringe worthy dialogue by the kids, I think the E3 video is pretty good at explaining what exactly it is, and giving a small demonstration.

Well, we have had a Wii for years and I don't feel like we were "suckered". :confused3 It is still a good machine and we also use it for watching instant Netflix. We also have an XBox 360 and if we dig in our closet- an Atari 2600 (Adventure, anyone? :) ), Atari 800, Atari ST, and a Sega (spinning hedghog) . :rotfl2:

I don't know that we will get Kinect or not. If so, it will be "for the boys" ;)

That looks amazing to walk around DL. I'm wondering too if it is all of it or just some areas. I can already tell the ride "games" look hard to me. I'd probably be crashing all over the place! If they were smart, they would include the BBB so girls could play dress up in there! Oh, AND...if they turned the walking around part into a roleplaying game with "quests", that would be amazing!

I agree about the "cringe worthy dialogue" by the kids. Why don't they just let kids be kids? All it did was make it seem tacky. Small point, I guess.

It will encompass the whole park. :) I'm guessing FL is what they have the most done on now, since it's not out until Christmas time.

Way Cool!!! DD11 and I just watched the video on you-tube. First thing she said was we have to talk Dad into getting a Kinect. I told her I didn't think it would take much talking.:woohoo:We have played the kinect at various events and really enjoyed it. We too have a Wii and don't feel the least suckered. But who says you can't have both?:thumbsup2

Dh was showing that to me and ds last night, it looks so fun and I can't wait for it to come out.

I wasn't going to purchase the Kinect add on for my Xbox, but now I just might have to. I should just start handing my paycheck over to Disney.

My boys were saying you should have 8 feet between you and the tv, which we don't have. Maybe 5 1/2 or 6 feet if we move the coffee table. Don't know if there is a techncial reason for it, or just so they can't be blamed if you bump the tv. :confused3

It is technical. You have to be far enough back for the Kinect to be able to see your whole body. If someone is too close it cannot track the hand or foot movements. That all being said, a company is coming out with an attachment to help reduce the room requirement by up to 40%. It was announced at the E3 Expo and should be coming later this year. PC magazine has a little bit about it.

One of the biggest complaints with the Microsoft Kinect for Xbox 360 is its space requirement. For the depth-sensing cameras to function properly, Microsoft recommends a good eight feet between your HDTV/Kinect and your couch/you. That's a lot of space, especially for apartment dwellers like myself.

Nyko might have fixed that problem with the Zoom, a surprisingly simple and affordable Kinect attachment that seriously cuts down on its need for room.

The Zoom is a wide-angle lens attachment that fits over the Kinect, changing how it sees the room. With a wider angle, it can see more laterally, but doesn't have as much depth.

The thing I've found with Kinect is that kids have to stand closer for it to work. So it may not be an issue. I think we usually stand around 5-6 feet away (grown ups) and it works fine.

I agree, not many living rooms have 8 feet between the Kinect and where the player(s) would stand( a foot of two away from a couch). That would require about a 17 foot long room, and those are usually in larger than normal houses and master bedrooms.
