Disneyland: Free Dining? When?

Hi!

I planned our WDW trip here last year and heard all about free dining. Does Disneyland have this promo? Is it worth it to go then?

I am starting from scratch with this trip, so if any of you Canucks have advice for me, PLEASE spam me with it.

I do not recall a free dining promo ever being offered at DL. There is no need as the park is much smaller. It is used mostly by locals. The economy is much stronger in California than Florida and they seem to have no trouble filling rooms. You will find the AP4 or buy three get the fourth night free usually offered after summer holidays have ended. The best way to save money on a DL trip is to eat and stay offsite which is easy to do because everything is within walking distance to the park.hth

Disneyland also does not have any Dining Plan that is comparable to WDW. They offer something very different (or used to) that is sort of made up of vouchers and is not a very good value. I don't know of anyone who has ever purchased it. There are very few table service restaurants in the parks and "Dining" is not really a big part of the Disneyland experience as it is at WDW. They also have no trouble filling their hotels as they have fewer rooms,(and at much higher prices than for comparable hotels in WDW) and many offsite hotels are actually closer. As the previous poster said there are also many offsite options for dining that are very close by. HTH.
