We are 2 Grandmothers, DD, DSIL, and 4 grandchildren ages 2 to 8, and we will be there Sept 4 to 7th. I have been a few times before but in March, and always found it cold at night, will this be the case then??

We flly in and out of San Diego, (best airfare$$), and just wonder if we should use our MM for Sunday as we will probably have to leave the park by 12:30 or 1:00. Flight is not until 6:30 but with rentals, traffic etc, if we miss that flight, well its just not an option.

Also with the youngest being 2 and 4, we would like to see the fireworks at least once, and were hoping not to have to try and keep the little ones occupied for 1-2 hours prior, is there someplace we could take a chance and maybe show up a half hour before, and still have a decent view? Any tips at all would be much appreciated.

TIA

We went last year the first week of September. It was was still very hot during the day but did cool down some nights enough to need a light jacket.

I have never used MM. I travel with a bunch of sleepy heads so we never make to the park early but your plan sounds like a good one! Get in as much last minute time as possible!

And for the fireworks, there are lots of places less crowded if you do not feel like you have to be front and center. We have walked up on most occasions and gotten a pretty good spot. Last year we watched from the ROA area and really enjoyed it there but, of course, we could not see every little detail. I think I have also heard that it is a nice view and less crowded watching near Small World.

Have a great trip!

We wandered up by Small World and watched the fireworks in 2006 and didn't have to camp out there hours before. I think they also projected pictures on the front of Small World. Don't know if they still do that.

Thanks for the responses. We leave one week from today:cheer2: and each time I have been I ended up buying a sweatshirt as I found the evenings chilly. Will check out the area around IASW, as one grandson has a bit of a problem with noise and crowds. Plus this Grandma is just a teensy claustrophobic:scared1: , so that area might just be best for us.

Since IASW is closed and walled off for the major refurb, they are not doing projections over there for the fireworks. It still may be an "ok" place to watch, but you will miss Tink flying and all the cool projections on the castle and matterhorn.

I suggest watching from a place on Main Street somewhere around the Candy Palace or Camera Shop. The closer you can be to the partners statue, the better. If you find it too crowded there, farther back on Main Street, or even at the top of the Train Station platform is a good place to catch them with very little crowds.

Sorry I started a new thread, and did not see your response first.:guilty: I really appreciate the info though, as we want to make this as enjoyable as possible for him. Thanks to everyone!!!
