Disneyland first week of January 2013

Hi Everyone!
I was just wondering if it will be SUPER busy Jan 2-5??? I have done a lot of research online, but have found mixed reviews. Some websites say it is super crowded and some say its slow! I know the rose bowl and parade are on the 1st, so I'm expecting it to be really crowded.

I would assume it will be very busy. Local kids are still out of school. Those weeks around the Holidays are quite hectic. With Cars Land popularity still raging strong, I would make the most out of getting to the gate early (before opening). It is considered by the Disney hotels as one of their high capacity times. I am thinking that since carsland and the remodel in CA we can all throw the "usual" trends for Disneyland out the window. We have been several times and used to be annual pass holders for a few years in a row..... it seems everytime we go anymore it is crazy busy. Even during those times when it is supposed to be slow?!

Plan on going, plan on it being packed and anything less than that.... you will be happy!

We went to DL on New Years Day one time. It was so crowded we had to make a hand holding train so none of us would get lost in the sea of shoulder to shoulder people. This doesn't speak exactly of January 2-5, though.

it's probably going to be busy. We are going the same dates because both DD and myself (Im a HS teacher ) are off until Jan 7. So I'm expecting a lot of people to be in the same boat and to have the parks be fairly crowded. Not to mention its the last few days of the holiday decorations and there are no ride closures till the 7th. There is a lot of motivation for people to go that week.
