Disneyland February 2014

Hi Everyone!

I'm new around here and am looking for some advice. I love Disney and haven't been to Disneyland since I was 7 - quite a long time ago. My husband and I were talking about spending our 1st Anniversary next February in DL next year since we both love Disney. I'm wondering how crazy is it during president's week? I know WDW is super crowded and nuts - I did that once and will never go president's week again! I'm not sure how the school breaks are on the west coast. I'm not expecting an empty park but I just don't want to be waiting hours to get onto rides or be tripping over people in crowds. My vacations are set because I'm a teacher - only have off when the kids do - and I can't handle super big crowds very well. Am I crazy for doing this trip that week?

I wouldn't call President's week "nuts", but it is more crowded than any other week in February. Not anything like Christmas or Spring Break. Not all the Ca schools take the whole week off. Most take a 4 day weekend. I also work in a school district that takes the whole week (in central Ca). My recommendation would be to arrive on a Monday and leave Friday, or a something in the middle. The weekends will be packed.

One more thing ... keep in mind that February can be like September and have quite a few rides down for refurbishment. I looked at ride closures early in February this year and was surprised to see 14 attractions closed that day.

Thanks! I will definitely keep that in mind. I think we're leaning towards Tues - Thurs for Disney. We're also going to San Diego, but I think we're going to start with that instead of end with it. I appreciate the help!
