We are WDW veterans planning our first trip to DL. Does FastPass work the same in DL as WDW? At WDW you can't get a FP for another attraction until you have used your initial FP or until a certain amount of time has gone by (usually a couple of hours). It will tell you on the FP when you can get another one.

Yes, it's the same at DLR as it is at WDW. And remember, you don't have to use it inside the window, if you have a return of 12-2 pm you can ride the ride anytime after 12 pm.

Yes but...

1. There are more loopholes at DLR

2. The proximity of the parks allows for easy parkhopping and a different FP collection strategy

IT's exactly the same. Including that you can in DLR as well get another FP 2 hours later.

One common question is if you have one in DL can you get one right away in DCA yes. Despite that you an walk from a FP distribution center i one park to the other in 10 minutes, they are in no way connected. Just like MK FPs are not connected to DHS'.


Also the WoC FPs are not connected to any other FPs, which is another common question.

Related to this is something I understand is an important difference between DLR and WDW and discussed in my links above - when one enters either DL or DCA the entrance ticket is initialized for FP collection at both parks. This allows for a FP runner to get FPs for a group at the opposite park even though no one in the group has entered that park.

I have heard WDW does not work this way...

The biggest difference is how few FP locations there are in DL compared to any of the parks in WDW. Toy Story Mania doesn't have a FP in DCA. Can you IMAGINE that at WDW-HS? THe good news is that we never waited long than 40 minutes for TSM, and the two weeks we were there (first 2 weeks of December) that was the longest line we stood in by far. Of course, I would imagine that this week and next will be a lot longer!

I know you only asked about FP, but another HUGE difference between DL and WDW is the food choices. DL has very little comparatively and what is offered is ho-hum. Of course that means more time for rides instead of being enticed by yummy restaurants, lol.

Enjoy your trip. There are major differences between the park, but the pixie dust is a constant!

This is a good point. If you know very well which WDW attractions have FP. You should take some time to study the list below, so your expectation get in line with what FP rides DLR has.

it is the same. but its not untill you use the FP, it's more like a certain amount of time has gone by . and your right they do tell you on it when you can... Enjoy! your trip to DLR
