Disneyland Express without a reservation?

We will most likely be taking Disneyland Express (Gray Line) from LAX to GCH. However, it looks like from their website they only run once an hour. Since I don't want to wait an hour for the shuttle if I happen to have bad luck and arrive just as they're leaving, I'm reluctant to pre-book since you have to prepay and would lose your entire payment if you don't cancel far enough in advance. Anyone know if it's pretty easy to take the DLE without a reservation, or if they're generally booked up? Going in August.

My plan is to take DLE if the wait time isn't too long, otherwise take a taxi or try to hop on Shuttle Express.

And yes, I know I can get a reservation and not worry about a wait with companies such as Karmel ... but I really prefer to take one of the big coaches. I just think they're more comfortable.

I've never seen them full and they had somebody on board to collect payment in June. I think they only take credit cards (maybe cash?). We've always prepaid, so I'm not positive. That said, I've heard reports of them charging different prices than the website, so make sure you have a print of from the website showing the prices so you can show them should they try.
