We are looking into reserving the disneyland express bus instead of a rental car. Our only concern is getting back to LAX with plenty of time. Our flight is 12:55 on a Wed. We were planning on leaving disneyland at 10am and our friends would drop us off at the airport terminal before they returned the car.

What are the details on the Disneyland Express bus. I looked at the sticky on the top of the forum, but I couldn't find info on how long it took from pick up to drop off. How many stops do they make? Do they stop at offsite hotels?

Thanks!

I will be there in July and have the exact same question. Any help would be appreciated.

Well we decided to go with a rental car. We went with Alamo and it ended up being cheaper than the bus. We got a 7 passenger mini van for $79 for the length of our stay. We will pick it up on Sun and drop it off on Wed. There are some great discount codes out there if you search for them. We got 20% off.

From LAX your travel time is very dependent on traffic. This weekend, we arrived late morning on Sunday and it took about 35 minutes from leaving the airport. I have also arrived at rush hour during the week and the trip took 75 minutes. Fortunately, the bus can cruise in the HOV lanes, but it can still be slow going in LA rush hour. The bus always makes its first stop at DLH. From there, you may be asked to board a separate bus that makes rounds in the Anaheim area. Going back to LAX they recommend selecting a bus departure time three hours before your flight.

Just took the Magical Express bus for the first time last Wednesday. Generally we've found that if you have more than 1 or 2 people its cheaper to rent a car. But since I was solo and satying at a LAX hotel, spending the $28 rt made sense. They told me it picks up at LAX at the top and bottom of every hour, and it goes to DLH first, then GC, then PPH, then good neighbor hotels. Returns to airport from DLH at the top of every hour. Was on time leaving DLH, was a little late at the airport. Took 45 min going south on 11:10a Wed, at 9p it took 35 going north. Hope this helps somebody who might want to take it. (I guess for some ppl paying a little more to avoid the experience of drivng in LA might be worth it. DH drives the rental but SoCal drivers don't make him nervous like me.)

We road DLRE from SNA today, and it was a fantastic experience!

Since there are 7 of us, it was the cheapest option (since parking is 15/day now!). Our driver was WONDERFUL! He had the kids putting their arms up in the air when he went down the on ramps and telling them it was a roller coaster and such. Really nice guy! Had a great experience and highly recommend!

How long was the trip after making stops at all the hotels?

Also, do you still pay for parking if you are staying onsite?

If you are staying on points self-parking has no extra fee for dvc members but valet was pricey. They go to on site properties first so there shouldn't be an extra time since you're staying at a disney preoperty.
