September 23, 24, 25 (Tues-Thu)

or

September 30, Oct 1, Oct 2 (Tues-Thu)

Any reasons why one week would be better or worse than the other? :)

Thanks for the help! J

AZ schools are out the first two weeks of October.
Gay Days begins on Friday the 3rd.

Not sure how much these two things will impact the parks.

We were at Gay Days in 2012 and that weekend was pretty insane. Week wasn't too bad.

AZ schools are out the first two weeks of October.
Gay Days begins on Friday the 3rd.

Good catch with the fall breaks.
However, instruction for the Southern California UCs doesn't start until the 29th-2nd, so they might want to splurge there before the quarter begins.

I'd still probably say the first date though.

My DD's AZ school is out last week of Sept and first week of Oct.....so they are not in Oct.

Unless you are planning/hoping to go to Mickey's Halloween Party on 9/30 (Disneyland will close early on that date, to allow for the MHP to start at 6 p.m.), I would go for the earlier set of dates (9/23 - 9/25).

I tend to think that the crowds will pick up a bit once Mickey's Halloween party starts on 9/26, and carry into the day of the second party of the season -- which is 9/30.

does anybody know when the local schools are on fall break?

Fall Break should not be a factor! (Honestly growing up on the west coast, I had not heard about it until I went off to Arizona for university!) I grew up going to DL a ton and don't think you could go wrong with either set of dates, Tues-Thurs are great days to go. I would suggest the earlier dates, 9/23-9/25. Most people would not take their kids out of school only 3-4 weeks after school has started. Gay days in the weekend following 9/30-10/2 and the hotels might be a bit pricier and the parks may be busier.

I'm trying to schedule when the crowds are lower. If the local schools are on break, it is more likely that there will be more people. :)

Does anybody know which rides are scheduled to be closed during these times?

Or are the park hours posted yet?

Thanks! :cool1:

When I was growing up, my family would go every October for a couple weeks and it was always great. Great weather, light crowds, perfect. But now that Tim Burton has taken up residence in the Haunted Mansion, October is no longer a good month to visit. Sadly, the real Mansion is only available for half the year and that half is a busy half. :(
