Hi all,

I am new to the boards, and am looking into planning a Disneyland Resort Escape Wedding for next September.

I would like new information that isn't already on the website before I make my final decision on if I should have it or not at Disneyland.

What are the options? DIfferent things to do with the wedding? Do you have to stay at the resort like it says you have to at WDW?

Thank you for anyone that could help

welcome and congrats!

i was a WDW bride, so i can't speak to your questions directly - but if you search this forum a bit, you are sure to find great tidbits while awaiting some of the DL brides to respond! have you checked through the planning forum (top of the page) - most people title their reports with the location so there may be ideas there as well!

finally, if you haven't found the following resources yet, check these out!
  • inside disney weddings podcast - mostly WDW info, but there ae episodes that pertain to DL. the host, carrie, is very active on this board and authored the passporters guide to disney weddings and honeymoons. i *thought* that this book/e-book contained DL info, but i'm not seeing that on the link i was just checking
  • the disney wedding blog - and totally NOT because our wedding video is the first post on ther today!! :rotfl: carly has lots of DL brides featured, so if you search there you should find at least some pictures and ideas

happy planning!!:thumbsup2

Thanks Sambycat and congrats to you, WDW must be beautiful for weddings.

And I've looked through a bunch of stuff and one of the threads I am following is about planning a Disneyland Escape wedding for December so I am following her closely. I have some time before I can contact anyone at DIsneyland for a set date and my contract I just want to get as much info I can in before I contact them :)

Thank You tons

Sorry I didn't get back to you in my thread yet, our cat gave our apartment a flea infestation and we've spent pretty much all of it washing every piece of laundry we own and giving the cat a couple baths (which is SO not fun!)

For Disneyland Escape weddings you DO NOT have to stay in a resort hotel. You don't have to fill a single room between you or your guests to get married there. They do, however, offer you a linkable website that offers Resort room discounts for people involved with your wedding, and discounted park tickets. I'm going to post prices and more info in my PJ (link in signarture) in the next hour.

Sorry again for taking a couple days to get that information to you :)

Hi kipperoo its ok that you haven't gotten back to me, our dog decided to do that about 2 months ago so I know how you feel and right now I'm dealing with a very stuffy nosed and fussy toddler, she hates when mom has to be nurse and clean out her nose. But thanks. I will look at your PJ here shortly. And glad that I dont have to stay there just looking ahead to next September the prices are just as expensive as the wedding itself :rotfl:

But since we are asking our family to join us for this special time in our lives and having to travel from New Mexico to Anaheim, we are going to purchase 3 day park hoppers for them as wedding favors, helps them keep the cost of traveling to be there for us down. And hopefully we can get a special rate for that. I know that much about our plans not to much else yet which I personally think is bad. I like to have everything planned out before hand because it drives me just a little bit nuts.

BTW where did you get your invitations? How did you get those to resemble the Disney writting to a T?

From our Disney Wedding ticketing website, I can tell you that the special rate our group gets for the 3 day hopper is $161 for adults or $140 for kids. :) This might change by your dates, but I've found most of the ticket options we were given to be about 20-40 dollars off regular prices. :)

As for my invitations... I made them. I'll post how in my thread right now, because I just typed it here and it was really long. :)

Thanks Kipperoo for posting the ticketing information. That at least will help us with the planning we can do for now until we can actually start planning our escape wedding.
