Disneyland Enhancements

We keep saying we're going to go, but I just LOVE DW so much more. :lovestruc We were in Cali last year, and we did Nappa Valley & San Fran. Someday I'll make it back there. My sister goes alot, as she lives in Cali. She said it's really changed since I was there last...guess it has! :thumbsup2

I want to get out there too, but I'm gonna wait for the refrubishment of DCA to be complete...

Love the new Subs with Nemo ride, and the Fantasmic is 10 times better than the one at the Studios...

And I'm sure Dumbo will continue to fly for a few more years, they didn't spend all that money for a one summer event.

I really enjoyed Disneyland...but whenever I crunch the numbers it always seems a better deal to go to WDW. Disneyland is great to visit, WDW to vacation at.

I love the Dumbo effect. Too bad they can't do that at WDW.

I've been keeping up with all the stuff going on lately (obviously :rolleyes1) and there's a lot of complete fan videos out of Fantasmic!, DMSEP, Magical Fireworks and Pixie Hollow on youtube. I can't view the youtube link at work so wasn't sure if it was the Disney made link or the fan videos. Some are in HD and really good quality.

Oh and Dumbo should return every summer. They're saying that Summer Nightastic! will be a new seasonal promotional thing like Halloween or Christmas.

It's so funny the differences in everyones opinions between the two parks. I think a lot has to do with which one each person grew up with and consider their home park. They're totally a different feel and atmosphere.

I personally find DL more appealing. We can stay at a value hotel across the street for $50 a night. Be out our door and through the gates in 10 minutes. Go across the way to DCA in ten minutes or less. DTD the same way. Plus, you can do both parks in 3 days tops. We went for 4 days once basically ended up redoing everything again that day, sometimes multiple times. Four is a bit too much. I like the fact that the park is smaller and more quaint and this feeling of knowing that Walt built the park and walked down those streets makes it all that more special to us.

WDW for me was this huge monstrosity that overwhelmed me. It's so big and spread out. We stayed off site to save money and it seemed like we spent most of our time in transit everywhere. It's just so different, but we DID love it and had a wonderful time despite the in-laws. A trip to WDW for us is usually double the cost factoring in everything. We plan on trying to go next year at some point and are even thinking about Gay Days.

I'd like to check out DL sometime. I was thinking about going to Blizzcon and while out there hit DL but I won't have enough vacation time this year. Maybe next year.

I want to see Dumbo!!!!!

It is only in the summer? That will never happen then. :guilty: ....unless they bring it to WDW!!!!!!

Can you imagine how fast that elephant would come down the wire in Orlando! I bet he could get a good 45 MPH going! :lmao:

I read that the ears alone are each the size of a full sheet of plywood. They said that the ears catch wind gusts pretty bad. Guess Dumbo's not very aerodynamic. :)

Very good point! I think if you're accustomed to the ease of staying off-site at DL, staying o.s at WDW is a big shock. It's very labor intensive.

I'm obsessed with Disneyland. I just love the vibe there.. I've been going there a lot more than WDW lately and I can't wait to go back but I'm going to wait for some of the DCA construction to subside. I'm thinking 2011 for the opening of Little Mermaid.

When we go each year, we spend the majority of our time at DL and only go over to DCA for about 3-4 hours at a time. We ride our favorites, see a show, do some shopping then we're back to DL. Not until 2012 when Cars Land is complete will you be able to truly spend an entire day there.

Thanks for sharing this, Mike. "Baby Mine?" Geez. I choked up just thinking about it. I'll be a blubbering mess at the real thing.

Totally agree, when I was there a couple of weeks ago I was in and out in about two hours with doing everything but Soarin' and Grizzly. I LOVE California Screamin' though...it's one of the best roller coasters I've been on.
