I would like to visit Disneyland from the Saturday before Thanksgiving and return back home on the day before Thanksgiving - I don't care about the crowds at LAX (I don't have the extra money to travel to John Wayne Airport) - how could I complain about anything if I'm going to Disneyland?

I just wanted to know if anyone knows about the crowds at Disneyland? I want to see Disneyland decorated for Christmas and this is the best time for me - Should I just forget about this trip?

Hi JanetRose,

We were there last year from 15th -20th November.

The only day that was really crowded was the 20th, which was a Saturday.

The other days were fantastic with totally managable crowds, even though crowds were apparently up due to the 50th.

I think this is a great time of year to go. We had really hot weather that cooled off in the evening and loved all the Christmas decorations. :cool1:

I just loved it and want to go back!!!!!!

Have a blast,

The couple days before Thanksgiving are typically a good time. Its Thanksgiving and the weekend following that are crazy! Most of the holiday stuff will be up. I think they might start the parade after T-day, but I'm not 100% on that.

I will be crowded, but completely do-able. We went Nov 19-23 (Sat-Wed) before Thanksgiving and had no major problems, even with the crowds for the 50th. We got to the parks before opening and took an afternoon break. All rides were open, plus the park was open late every night so we did everything we wanted.

Like you said its Disneyland, how can you complain?

We were at DL Monday 11/21/2005 through Thursday 11/24/2005. The parks were not overly crowded until the afternoon of Thanksgiving. If we didn't have a Disney Cruise planned for later this year- we would go again during that timeframe. :thumbsup2 The Christmas decorations were gorgeous!

We did a four day trip in early August 2005, and then went for a day trip on Wed, the day before Thanksgiving. The crowds were similar. That is, fairly crowded but not unbearable. If you get an early start at each park you can still get a lot done.

You might want to extend your trip until Thanksgiving to take advantage of the fantastic family buffet at the Disneyland Hotel. It is amazing! Characters, decorations, live entertainment and more tables of food than you can imagine!

For airports, you might want to consider San Diego. You'll need to rent a car, but easier to get in and out of than LAX and the commute time is similar (longer distance, but usually less traffic).

I agree, but if you do book it early. We tried to get in a month in advance and kept trying with no luck! We ended up eating at a buffet in the Paradise Pier hotel and it just OK.

We've gone that week for many years and loved it! Some crowds yes, but nothing like the summer months. LOVE the Christmas decor!!!
