ok my fellow DIS'er's...mainly those on the west coast. I'm an experienced WDW visitor, a overenthusiastic planner and an "everything Walt Disney" nut. Our favourite time to visit 'the world' is January/first of February...crowds are low, and being from Canada, the temperatures are just perfect (no matter how cold it gets). But time marches on, and the family gets older. Taking a week or two off from public/high school isn't going to work anymore, lol. One DD out and working, the other at University....but we NEED a family holiday:woohoo:... and of course, Disney came to mind. With youngest DD's university schedule, the only time we can get away is her reading week (February 18-26, 2012)...and yes, I've been told it is President's Day that week too....So now my question.........should we bother planning to do Disneyland that week or not??? My DD is taking film production, so Hollywood is a must visit. We're planning on staying at a hotel nearby DL and do a few days at the parks and 'tourist' the Hollywood area and hang around the hotel for the rest. Is this doable or should we plan something different and do DL another time?
All opinions and suggestions are MORE than welcome. I know I can count on my DIS friends for great advice.:worship:

It's not President's Week, it's President's Weekend. So I would go elsewhere on the first weekend and the to DLR at the end of the week. For DL you only need about 3-5 days so doing it the second half of the trip will work fine.

Presidents day is monday, feb. 20th. I know WDW is crowded that week, but I would think DL would be busy that weekend & then okay wednesday thru Friday (22-24). Can anybody say for sure what that week is like?

Our President's Day, weekend, week....was great. Our school district does a furlough week during that time. We went this past Feb. and had a fab. time. Crowds were great, weather was perfect (60's) for us. If I wasn't trying to plan a Disney Cruise that same week next year I would plan another Disneyland trip. ;) Oh, we did NOT do the weekend, however. We did a tour of Tuesday thru Thursday.
