Disneyland Documents? and WWYD?

I booked our first trip to DL the first of January. The travel agent said she would get our "disney documents" in the mail as soon as she received them. What are these documents (I'm assuming tickets, but what else)?

We are leaving next Friday and I still do not have them! I've asked her about them and she said that they arrived at her agency (she's an at-home agent) on the 18th but that she didn't have them yet. I'm really starting to get worried and I just don't know where to go from here. I have called the hotel to verify that we do have reservations but as of now I have NO DL tickets. First, isn't it weird that they were sent to her agency and the agency had to send them to her and then she sends them to me (that's the story she gave me). Why couldn't the agency just send them to me? She said it'd be 3-4 weeks before our trip that we'd get them and now we're a week away! Honestly I'm wondering if something isn't a little fishy.

What do you think I should do? Thanks so much!

And, while I'm at it, I have found this board to be SOOOO helpful in the planning of our trip. Everyone is just wonderful and I would have been SO overwhelmed if I hadn't found you!! THANKS!!
 
Did your agent book thru Disney Travel??? Disney sends their documents out 21 days prior to your 1st night. The travel documents you should receive is a confirmation &/or motel voucher (showing you paid & the dates & length of stay), you should also have your park-hoppers. If it is thru Disney you should also have coupons for the PS at 4 of the DCA shows, a DTD card (that gives you discs), luggage tags & your ToonTown early entry coupons.

If its thru another company that deals with Disney, you should get the same. If its a seperate thing, I'm not sure exactly what you would receive, but I would think you should have had your motel confirmation & park hoppers at this point.

I'd call your agent & ask for the package # (Reservation #) & maybe call directly to who it was booked thru.

That is fairly strange. Even if she booked through disney for you and they should have your info and mail it to you directly. I would call her and insist she send them over night to you and perhaps if there is someone above her you could talk to? The PP listed the things you should get and they want to see your info at check in and of course you need your tickets. Hope it works out. Keep us updated.
 
Oh gosh that's awful! The tickets will be in there, and when we booked through Costco Travel, they had a slip of paper that the front desk of PPH absolutely HAD TO see at checkin.

Is she local? Can you drive over and snag the documents?

Oh gosh, just re-read...you said NEXT Friday...thought you meant tomorrow...whew.

Some agents have things sent to them, others have them sent to the customer. With Costco Travel they were sent directly to us.
 

Disney will ALWAYS mail the documents directly to the agency not to the agent and not to the client. I'm a home based travel agent in CA, but my documents always go to my home agency in Texas. I then have the choice of having them sent to me or direct to my clients. In most cases I will have Disney docs sent direct to clients (Fed Ex 2nd day, with signature to ensure delivery), since they send so close to the travel date. I know my agency will ship within 24 hours, usually the same day. I always get a tracking number as well.

It sounds like your agent did not request expedited mail, nor did she have them sent direct to you. I would call her again and request that she have the documents tracked. I hope you get it straightened out ASAP.

Thanks so much for your responses! I was wondering if I was overreacting because the agent has been so...blase about it all! She did book through Disney travel...I think (WDWT was the charge on my card). I sent the agent an email yesterday afternoon expressing my serious concerns. She assured me she was going to track down the documents today and let me know what she found out today. If I do not hear from her I will call her agency directly. If they were lost in the mail will disney send out another set?

Any documents that are sent out thru Disney Travel requires a signature. So they would be able to track that & if they were signed for ..... someone would have some explaining to do!!! If they have not be signed for, then they could assume they are lost & would re-issue. That's my best guess on that. Good luck & keep us informed...... I'm getting worried for you!!!!

PS: What are your dates at DL??

UGH! STILL NO SIGN OF MY DOCUMENTS! Talked to the agent yesterday she told me that her agency did get them in the mail to her and she did get some of what they sent the same day, yesterday, but not mine. She emailed today, saying STILL no documents. I asked her if they could reissue and she said Disney said that because they were signed for at the agency they will not reissue. :scared:

She says she will "figure this out with the agency on Monday". But it just seems like more of the same. "This is my top priority" she told me on Thursday night and yet here I sit with no new information. WHAT THE HECK AM I GOING TO DO? We leave Friday afternoon (that's 4 mail days!) :confused3 Sorry, I just really need to vent. She did offer to drive them to me "when she gets them". But it's still no consolation because what if she DOESN'T get them?? Anyway, I plan to call the agency myself on Monday and #*$%^ (excuse the symbols ;)).

Has anyone been in my situation before??? Please tell me it turned out okay. I really am usually not this big of a worrywort but I'm sure there's a reason why they send them out 21 days before your scheduled check-in! *sigh* okay, I think I'm done.
 
I can't believe you still don't have them. You have the right idea about calling the agency that handled this..... I'd give them an ear-full & then I'd probably call Disney Travel & complain about the agency. Have they ever given you the reservation/package #. It would be nice to have that to refer to them with. I really don't think Disney Travel would be happy to hear that this agency was not handling things appropriately.
Gosh I really hope you get those in hand ASAP!!!!!! I'd be furious & on the war-path at this point. Hang in there, but definatley demand actions first thing Monday morning!!
 
That is unacceptable and I would call and talk to her superior first thing monday. And like PP said let them know you are calling disney right after you get off the phone with them to file a complaint there. And heck...why not throw in the BBB while you are at it. I can't believe you dont have them, such a joke. I really do hope it gets worked out. GL!
 
Good News! I will for sure have them by Wednesday. IF the agent gets them today then she will overnight them to me, so I will have them tomorrow. IF she doesn't get them then the agency is going to repurchase the package and have Disney overnight them to me so I'll have them Wed. I feel so relieved (although, not completely because they're not in my hands yet-but I do feel MUCH better :) ). The agent never did get the documents so the agency rebooked the trip (at their expense) and have had Disney overnight the documents to me. I have a tracking number and they are supposed to be here tomorrow. At this point I won't be completely relieved until I have them in my hands. But, things are looking up. Thanks!!
 
That's just crazy..... I'm guessing you won't use them again??!!

Wow...sounds like somebody's going to get their "you know what" chewed out at that agency. Glad to hear it will be resolved though. Talk about cutting it close...yikes :scared:
