Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

So I actually weighed myself today. (Something I hate to do.);)

I was surprised because between Monday and this morning, I've lost between 4-5 pounds! I can't really tell if it's 4 or 5 pounds because it's not a digital scale, it's the old fashioned kind.

So FINALLY I'm going down instead of up. A bona fide step in the right direction for a change. Whew! Relief! :)

So I woke up ready for the scale. I stepped on and it said I gained 6lbs!:scared1: That can't be right! I reweighed myself but no, it still said 255. I was so angry, there was NO way I could have gained 6lbs in week with the workouts and eating plan I have been keeping up. My mom said "Maybe it's muscle" and I'm like BUT 6LBS IN ONE WEEK! That's RIDICULOUS!

So I decided to go to the gym and use their scale because it is definitely accurate (unlike mine!) because it's the same kind they use at the Dr.'s office.
So I stepped on and fixed it so that it was balanced and I'm 244! I LOST 5lbs!

:woohoo:

So I wonder how much I really weighed when I started exercising and dieting.

I'm just going to stick with my original weigh in but from now on I'm weighing myself at the gym.

I've lost a total of 18lbs!:woohoo::cool1::banana:

Congrats to you both on your weight loss!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

The scale I have is from Sam's Club and I love it. It's digital and goes by decimal points, for example 153.6 or whatever. It was only around $28 and it's so nice to finally have an accurate scale. LOL

Yahoo!! I know how difficult it is to FINALLY be going down the scales! Congratulations!!

Whew! I'm so glad you decided to try the scale at the gym. Toss out the other one!

Didn't make it to the gym Friday night because both boys were out for the evening and Hubby and I went out on a date! We went for chinese food and I only ate half of the dinner (the leftovers are still in the fridge). Missed again yesterday :guilty: but took the hubby and dog out to the trails and I just checked out the map and round trip (stopped for lunch) was 4.18 miles! We spent a long time talking about our trip next May (seems that now is an acceptable amount of time prior to the trip to start the discussions for DH - he was always teasing me before that it was too far away).

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

Great job on the hike! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

As for me, well I did my weights of Friday afternoon and then a 3 and 1/2 mile hike on Saturday with the dog to preview that section of the lake I haven't yet made it through. So now I'm ready for the RUN AROUND THE LAKE in a week!! :thumbsup2

I also did yoga this morning, to stretch out all those muscles. I didn't run at all this weekend, cause my knees and legs were a little sore, so I was "recovering."

Just a little story to share...we went to see Chihuahua last night and when they had the Walt Disney opening with the castle before the movie, my DS3 threw his hands up and yelled in the movie theater, "I LOVE DISNEYLAND!" :rotfl:

And better late than never on the QUOTE OF THE WEEKEND
Though no on can go back and make a new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new end.

So yesterday I went on a 2 + mile walk with my mom....I wasn't even winded going uphill and talking! I snuck a peak at the scale today and it said I was 1 lb up! Wrong direction. I am hoping it is just one of those fluxuation things! I want to be down at least 1 lb this week! I won't get any exercise in today as I am working a 16 hour day. Oh well, I can eat well and work out tomorrow! Good luck to everyone! Drink your water!

Sarah
P.S. My son is on the floor of the computer room singing the romantic song from Robin Hood!:rotfl:

Awww, kids are so cute!! Gotta love it. :goodvibes

Sounds like everyone is doing great so far this week with exercise!! :cheer2: Keep it up!!!!!!!!!

Happy Monday!

Just a reminder to everyone that this weekend is the Worldwide Festival of Races http://worldwidefestivalofraces.com/cgi-bin/home. So if you're still trying to figure out what you're going to do for the event, time to start thinking. Remember, any exercise is good! Walking, dancing, swimming, elliptical machines. Just plan on getting up and moving this weekend!

I'm planning to run/walk around the lake a block away. Still needing to find the day that I'll do it and it may have to happen next weekend, but it will happen!

Finished my 4 mile run today. Not sure you could call it a run, as I will S-L-O-W. But I got up and moved and that is good.

Rather than a quote, I'm sharing a recent article I found
Just one exercise session speeds fat metabolism

Have a great week! :cheer2:

This has got to be my best Monday yet.

I didn't get up too late, I did all my chores in an hour, had a healthy breakfast and I already did my 30 minutes of cardio. I usually do more but today I have to make dinner and I have orientation for the Disney Store at 6pm so that rules out my late night exercise.

It wasn't very smart of me to take an unaltered female dog for a walk in a dog-filled neighborhood. I understand that she might give off a scent but these dogs didn't want to "get" with her they wanted to kill her. It was kind of scary, they were snarling and trying to get out of their yards.

I guess I have to take my dog out of the neighborhood for a walk.

GO Cristabel!! :cheer2: You are doing GREAT!! :woohoo:
At least one of us was on track this Monday. :upsidedow I've felt a couple steps behind in everything today.

Sounds like there was a lot of walking/hiking this weekend. Perfect fall activity. If the weather holds up we will be taking the dog to the Berkeley Marina for our walk next weekend.

I was REALLY freaked out to find out our bank had messed up and our mortgage payment will be going up $500 per month.:scared1: (they didn't calculate our impound account correctly for taxes & insurance). I'm trying to not let it get to me (HA), DH and I decided we will just have to REALLY carefull with the budget. Back to low cost meals and NO extras. Homemade gifts for X-mas. No savings for the near future (pray my company doesn't think about layoffs). Ok, enough sob story...

My Monday worked out better than I had anticipated diet wise. I was working late (too bad I don't get OT) and thought about skipping the gym, but then figured I'd really be depressed if I didn't go and then weighed in tomorrow and gained.

Crossing my fingers for a weight loss tomorrow.

I did okay today. I ate school lunch, which was actually fairly healthy. I did, however, have a serving of strawberry ice cream after dinner. :rolleyes1

I am so inspired by you ladies! You all are doing great!

hi everyone...long double! must sleep. Back to work in 7 hours. Good on food, no exercise, obviously!

Good morning ladies! :goodvibes

Had a 5am meeting and now that the meeting is over I have a little bit of time before everyone else in the house wakes up.

Here's the QUOTE OF THE DAY:

I'm doing HORRIBLY.

You don't want to know what I've eaten today, nor do I want to tell you.
It was that bad.

Ugh.

I'm focusing on drinking my cranberry water right now and a healthy dinner in a bit.

Oh and I'm taking a double dose of fiber tonight and tomorrow morning.

Hang in there, we've all had those days. It happens. Sounds like you already have a plan to get back on track. :thumbsup2

Where is everyone today? :confused3

Hope you are all doing ok.

I spent the day putting up Halloween decorations. :goodvibes

Oh man, that sucks about the mortgage payment!! I'd be freaking out. Even cutting way back if that happened to us, we'd be done for. I'd be so furious with my bank for making such a huge error.

I hope your weigh in went well! :wizard:

'Good morning all! I did well yesterday. I worked out for 30 minutes on the tread mill and at the 30 minute mark I had gone 1.98 miles! My goal is to hit 2 miles in 30 minutes and I am getting really close to that! For dinner last night my vegetarian friend made brussel sprouts and salad with cabbage, onion, sliced almonds and ramen noodles. It was good. I was surprised I enjoyed the brussel sprouts as much as I did!

I will try to work out again tonight! Hope you all are doing well! Cristabel I hope you are already back on that band wagon!
