Hey! This is my first post on here. We are heading that way to Disneyland on May 29th. We are driving from New Mexico. I was going to book our stuff this weekend...2 night/3days with 3 day parkhopper. I was going to include a 3 day Donald Dining plan, but I've had some people tell me it's really not worth it! There are 4 of us...2 adults and 2 kids (7 & 4).
Tell me all of your experiences please!!

The dining plan at DLR is not useful (IMO and many others here) because:
a) It doesn't save you much money
b) You get a set amount of dollar amount vouchers and when you use those vouchers you don't get change. So for example if you want to pay for something that costs $4.95 with a $5 voucher, you will lose 5 cents. That's not a big deal, but if you have run out of $5 vouchers, you need to either pay in cash (which defeats the purpose of a dining plan) or pay with a $10 voucher and lose $5.05 (which can add up significantly)
c) You can't use the vouchers at Downtown Disney restaurants

I don't have any experience (we live about 15 minutes away), but I think the savings is only about $5.00, i.e. you get $40 worth of certificates for $35 and they can't be combined with other discounts, I could be wrong about the discounts part.
