I have dreamed about one day taking my granddaughters to Disneyland at just the right age for it to be magical! They will be 5 & 8. I officially booked our trip this morning for 4 day weekend in December. I chose Paradise Pier and cannot wait to plan some of the extra events for them!
Please share with me all of your favorite activities in the parks in December!

what are the dates, we can be of more help if we know which weekend

start researching all the holiday themed deserts in the park.

I decided on December 13-17th. Not my first choice, but we all will be missing school, and work! I wanted it as close to Christmas as my schedule would allow!

Finding disboards is a great start! You'll pick up a lot of info hanging out around here and we can always answer any questions. You're going to have an amazing time! I'm so excited for you.
Character meals are a really great treat! I prefer Plaza Inn with Minnie as there are so many characters but they are all great in their own way.
If they are into being "princesses", you can look into a princess makeover at Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. My daughter isn't into this kind of thing so we haven't done it, but it looks like a dream come true for a girly girl.
There's also afternoon tea at Disneyland hotel that you may be interested in.
Of course, you don't have to do any of these "extras" to have a fantastic time. Between rides, entertainment, food, and just the atmosphere, there is plenty to do and enjoy!

christmas carolers....you always see them on TV or movies...but generally not out in public Christmas setting, but at Disneyland, all decorated in holiday attire, down by main street, there are two different styles of carolers...always fun to listen them in the Disneyland setting.

also do some research about taking 5 year olds to Disneyland....is this a family affair or just the three of you?.....some preparation will need to be made on introducing some attractions. For example NBC, not scary at all with its bright colors and up beat music, but it wouldn't hurt for the children to watch NBC before the trip.
