Disneyland 'Culture' Question LOL

So we're readying for our Thanksgiving trip and I have a question...do people at DLR decorate their hotel room doors for the holidays?

Whenever we've been at WDW for a holiday (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas) lots of guests decorated their doors with holiday/Disney posters, gift wrap, streamers, etc. (My own WDW superstition is that the more decor you display in your room--plus tipping of course--equals more towel animals created by mousekeeping LOL)

Of course this has all been at onsite hotels--for our first DLR trip we'll be at HOJO's. Anyone ever noticed door decorating happening there?

Even if it's not common, I may have to do it anyway for the kids, since they've seen it at WDW and it's just another way to sprinkle pixie dust on their trip

A lot of my friends that go to WDW decorate their doors and windows, but I personally have never seen it at DLR.

I typically stay at the Grand, and they don't decorate the deluxe hotels at WDW, but I stayed last year at DLH and didn't notice anything there either, on the windows or the doors.

Maybe somebody else will have better news!!!

We've gone to both DL and WDW for x-mas and have decorated our rooms. At the DLH I used suction cups to hand our stockings on the glass siding door, and brought a small ~2' tree with us to be decorated. When we stayed in a 2 bedroom Villa at WDW I broke out the x-mas lights for around the room, stockings, small tree, and a few decorations to hang on the walls.

I say it you're going to be there then and want to do it, then do it. Just use painters tape so that it doesn't peel the paper/paint off the walls, suction cups, and the 3m removable hooks.

I've never seen it on doors at any hotels in DLR (I stayed at Hojo 3 times since June 2009). My mom did decorate the room a bit for my birthday in June 2009, and housekeeping didn't touch it, so you should be able to do stuff inside the room, at least.

I can't say that I have noticed this at DLR, but I have else where. I think it is a fantastic idea. If I were away from home on a holiday I would adopt this practice. Life is short and memories are what we keep and leave behind with others. I enjoyed the decorated doors I have seen in the past. I say go for it, and don't listen to the bah-hum-buger's!!

Decorate the inside of your room all you want. Decorating doors and windows, is, IMO, excessively tacky.

You have to remember that HoJo is not a Disney Resort. Here in Florida, WDW tolerates much of the decorating of windows and doors. However, many of the off-site hotels do not. I don't know HoJo's specific policies, but I would imagine that they're not very favourable to it either.

You would need to consult with them before planning anything.

I think the main difference is DLR hotels have only indoor corridoors while WDW resorts about half have outdoor cooridors. So at WDW you have other guests walking by you window in DLR you don't.

We've decorated our room for an 8 night stay over Christmas at WDW . . . lighted tree, hanging stockings and reusable stickers on the window.

If I were staying at Disneyland over Christmas for the same amount of time, I would probably decorate. I don't think I'll ever stay that long at Disneyland, however.

I could see having a small tree and decorations if I was there for Christmas. However, I wouldn't put things up on the doors and windows for people to see outside at a non DLR resort because I don't want to advertise who is in the room and that we are gone all day at DLR.
