Who's first?

Mr Plutes? pirate: - You wanted banter.....

OK, I'm the first to wonder....

• I made my own arrangements, will we still get to participate or did I need to go through Dreams?

• Besides the 5K and 1/2 Marathon, will there be other events?

• Is anyone else staying at the GCH?

Don't expect you to have the answers Nancy, just though we could speculate on the answers.

Shopping question:

---WDW has a couple of grocery delivery services and a drug store that delivers...so what kind of grocery delivery services are common in DL?

---Why are there no more yellow Mickey ponchos?

Okay, I need to think about more questions...:)

it's a small world

Now that we've digested the new changes: good or bad?

Discuss.

:) WDW has Stacey and the Top 7 or whatever the latest version is now called---so, is there a DL must sees/do resort tv version?

You guys are good....:lmao:

Daneen -
  • I hope so, considering we're staying on DVC points.... We have so many locals out here that I'll have to mention that. (Can't you transfer a reservation to Dreams?)
  • We're at the DLH this trip - less points.
  • Pete hasn't listed anything specific out yet, but leave them to put together something for the "favorite children"....

Belle -

  • Albertsons and Vons.
  • 911
  • Yes - DLR TV... and DVC TV, too. Different host for DLR TV. Not near as peppy and noxious, more infomercial....

Challer -

I like them. They add something. My kids love them. It's fun to play "find the characters". I did love the original, though. It's a fence rail....

Next.......:woohoo:

I LOVE the changes to IASW. I think they're subtle enough.

I also love the changes to DCA, including Mickey being moved from Screamin' to the Fun Wheel.

One thing I never liked, though, was when they moved the Astro Orbiter to the front of TL. It creates SO much congestion, and the park already has a bad time absorbing crowds. The AO is down right now for refurbishment and I think it looks wonderful! LOL I wish they'd put it back over where it used to be, pre-Rocket Rods (RIP).

Out of the CA team----

> Who is more likely be in a ride marathon (just a what if):
---be the last on on IASW
---the Indy ride
---Matterhorn
---Screamin'
---Soarin'
---Sun Wheel (whatever it wants to be called)
>Favorite treats (DL exclusive if possible)

That's easy - do you want me to answer or do you want to see other people's guesses first? The answer is really easy!;)

Is there a 3 o'clock parade and if there is one...what time will it be on?

Okay...another serious question...Where's Jack? And why is the rum is always gone?

3:30 - at Small World - 3:45 at Castle hub - 4 on Main Street. Repeat again at 6:30 - going reverse direction from Main Street up to Small World. (They don't have the luxury of always bing able to move it back to start backstage....)

Treats - that's a good one to think about - I'm not sure what's DL specific anymore, but I have a couple ideas in mind of what we always get. Again - save or spill?

Save the treats---I have heard of some DL only (or used to be exclusive).

:tigger:

Where is the closest source of Dr. Pepper to the parks/DL resorts?

Can someone in CA enjoy a moon pie with a bottle of RC Cola near the parks without having them imported from the East?

Are there any place with decent grits or biscuits?

Are there good crabcakes in DL?

Can you tell that this is week 3 of us doing Weight Watchers? :)

Good grief, where do you think this is...NC?? :rotfl2:

To be honest, I have not seen an RC Cola in a store in my area since the 1980s! Dr. Pepper, now that is a favorite in my house too. I'm sure Nancy can tell you the closest market. Grits, biscuits, crab cakes, hmm, how about the CA versions... granola, sprouted wheat bread and tofu cakes :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I can get RC Cola and moon pies locally.

I heard sweet tea made it to CA---but, people out there make it too sweet.

:rolleyes1 I'm not starting into bbq vs grilling.
Western NC BBQ vs Eastern NC BBQ...

  • DP - is a market just outside of property on Harbor - next to the Candy Cane, as well as gas stations on Ball @ the Disneyland Drive exit (right next to where the parking garage bridge crosses over Ball) and on Harbor, too.
  • Moon pies - they don't really exist out here - BYOMP baby!
  • Biscuits - my house (I make a mean gravy) Grits - don't know if Mimi's has them for breakfast or not. Grits are hard to come by.
  • Used to have okay crabcakes at the Blue Bayou - around here, one crab cake tastes like another. Oh - Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen might have one on the menu occasionally.

Next..... grasshoppers..... where's that smoking gun smilie! :rotfl:

We just got Mimi's in our area a year or two ago, but we have not been there yet.

:surfweb: I'm too tired to think about more questions for tonight.

Thanks Nancy.

This was way fun!!!!! Hopefully more people will join in and play tomorrow!!!

Thanks Belle (and everyone else) for some really great questions - I had fun coming up with the answers to some of the obscure ones - you are good!!!!

FYI - DL gives out carnations to all moms on Mother's Day - I got mine this morning!!!!

PS - just checked Mimi's breakfast - no grits or biscuits for you......

Guess what? Moon pies do exist out here! Last summer we went to that HUGE sporting and outdoor store that just opened up down there. I forget the name, but it is BIG. Anyway, they had Moon Pies there! I only knew about them because a mom in my pre-k class ordered them and brought them in for the kids and I got to try one. So we got several different flavors to try. I assume they are still there, but I haven't checked lately. :rotfl:

When do they start the HM overlay? August or September?
