Disneyland clothing

I've never purchased any clothing items at DL and was wondering about the quality. For all of you who do regularly buy clothing there can you tell me how it stands up to washing and the dryer? One thing I cannot stand is something that shrinks in it's length. Are there certain types of things that are better quality than others? A certain store that is good?

I ALWAYS buy a sweater from DL when I go (and I go like twice a year). I think
the quality is just fine. Although, when buying shirts, they do tend to shrink
like any other place you get 'em from. I say if it bothers you, buy a size
bigger because you won't be able to get the clothes any place else. They
typically only sell Disneyland clothing @ Disneyland. Either that or don't put
the shirts in the dryer. I hope you find stuff you like !!

I think that I have bought every Disney clothing item of ours at DL from the Emporium on the way out of the park, and it is always just T-shirts or sweatshirts....
I have to say that I've never had a poorly made item. Years later they are holding up beautifully. I even have a T-shirt I bought at the park in 1990 or '91 sometime - it is a kind of blacklight shirt of the castle with fireworks around it and lots of neon green and orange..... I must have washed it 500 times over the years, and it is still in great shape.
My kids' simple Mickey shirts they picked up in '06 have been worn with love many many times and still look like new.

I've found clothing from Disney very high quality. I have a shirt I bought from DCA in 2004 and it still is a great shirt! Its little bit stretched out, but I've worn it in a river, during whole camping trips, to play sports in, and as a pajama shirt. Considering all its been through, its retained its shape and design remarkably well! I'm amazing with the high quality. I also don't recall it shrinking much when I washed it.

As far as different stores, since all of Disney's clothing comes from the same manufacturers, there is not one place better to go to the others. The only thing that differs the clothing selection in stores is what they sell--stores in fantasyland will sell little girls shirts with princesses, while DCA and the Disney Clothiers Ltd on Main Street seem to have a better, more stylish selection for teens and adults. I've found the most "stylish" clothes in DCA, but most of those clothes have DCA written somewhere on them. So if you're looking for something stylish but with a DL logo somewhere on it, you may have to look a bit harder. Of course everyone's taste in fashion is different, and their inventory changes often, so it may be easier for you. Hope this helps!

We have three girls (ages 12, 11 and 2 1/2) and I just thought it would be neat to get them some matching t-shirts. I'm not looking for any specific logo, just something cute.

You will definitely find some cute matching shirts! They have everything you could possibly think of - cutesy, bit of an attitude, glittery.... It's all good!! The problem is deciding on just one or two

I have 3 drawers of just Disney shirts! I don't get rid of them because they never seem to wear out! I give a lot of clothes away to good will each season but I just can't seem to part with any of my Disney shirts!

I have this great DL sweatshirt with hood that I got in 1998 - and it still looks almost new...ok...well there were several years I couldn't wear it because I got too big for it - but I can wear it now...and I do!! They seem to have good quality things...for the most part.

The quality is good and they do hold up well. I did want to give you a heads up that as far the the women's sizes go, they tend to run very small. Kids sizes seem to be more true to size. But I've had several times when I've bought something for myself without trying it on, and its been too tight, probably by as much as two sizes! Then again, I tend to like looser fitting clothing.

I absolutely agree!!! I generally wear a size medium in shirts and sweatshirts. At DL a large fit me a little tighter than my normal med. does. I ended up buying my sweatshirt last time in XL, just so that it could be a little loose.

I purchased one of the Jack Skellington face hoodies, because it was soooo cool. But when I washed it, it puckered up at the zipper, which runs the length of his skeletal face and now it's kinda sad. ;(

Aside from that, wife picked up a nice brown hoodie with the old 1957 theme and it's held up great.

Neither item shrank and always fit fine.

You're probably going to pay $5-7 more for a shirt in Disneyland than you will at Target, Wal-Mart, et all, but rest assured that you're paying that extra solely to see the word Disneyland on the shirt. I've bought quite a few Disneyland t-shirts over the years and they last a very long time. I do recommend going a size up if you're worried about shrinking, but I've had that problem with just about any shirt I buy that isn't made by Nike.

One other suggestion is to check out the DISsigns section of this board. I did the other day and they are amazing!! There are designers who make disney inspired designs - FOR FREE! We are using one of the designs by rumblytumbly for our family vacation in Dec. She was able to tweak it just a little for me and it will be perfect. We can get the same color shirts or different color shirts in different sizes and everyone will still have the same design on the front. What a great thing!

Cars shirts at Target are $7.99 and at DL they are $17 or so.

The only issue we had was with he Jedi Academy pull over hoodie sweatshirt...for whatever reason the sweatshirt material likes to ball up and it looks rather old/dingy for him only wearing it like 5 or 6 times. Other than that we have bought a ton of things in the park and disneyshopping.com and have not had any other issues. I don't dry some of the stuff...to keep good color.

Over the years I've purchased shirts and sweatshirts, and haven't had any issues. However I do prefer to hand-wash articles that I really want to take care of.

DL clothing is so overpriced , lately I've been screenprinting my own shirts to where especially on my Disney visits, mostly Haunted Mansion themes.
