This is my first post, so I hope I put it in the right place.

We are booked to go to Disneyland Dec 12-15th. It looks like the Cast Party is scheduled for the nights of the 13th and 14th. I am not so concerned with them closing early (6:00 PM) on those days because I have little one's who will be exhasted anyway, but I was concerned about the crowds and if they were going to skip fireworks that day? Or have any additional rides/events closed because of the Cast Party? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! Those are our dates too (12th-15th)!:) I have been all over those questions too...another thread about early Dec. hours (sorry can't remember the exact title) was going yesterday too, so that will also be helpful to read. But it sounds like there are still fireworks those days (just earlier) which is great for us to because we also have little ones. Also, I've been reading that it seems crowds are pretty good those days too! I'm not sure if there are any closures associated with it, so maybe some "experts" can chime in!

Hope that helps! We're SO excited for our trip...

Sure! I'm getting a little "obsessive" about our trip coming up...so excited to be there for Christmastime (never been then). I can't WAIT to see my kids faces...well, mine too!! :)

LOL.... I am doing the same. We have been a few times with the kids, but none of us have ever been at Christmas time. Glad to hear I am not the only one who plans/obsesses this early :)

Other than the shorter hours (and therefore adjusted entertainment schedule), the cast party does not affect anything operationally in the Park. Will everything be open? Everything that would be otherwise, barring maintenance, unplanned closures, etc....

Some people have the theory that the Park is less crowded on the days of cast parties because people tend to avoid the Parks on those days due to the shortened hours. As for whether this is actually reality, I don't know. The popular theory is... Yes, you have less time in the Park to enjoy everything you want to do, but there are less people so it evens out. Again, theory - not sure if it's actually statistically true or not.

HTH,

We have been many cast member party days. They are usually the week before. We love these days. Yes, the park closes at 6:00, but the fireworks and snow start at 5:45. The CAP stays open later on these days too. It used to be that most folks didn't bother with CAP and you kind of had the park to yourself. LAst year , there were a few more people at CAP, but still very manageable. Who knows this year with the WOC?

Thank you all for the wonderful information. It has been very helpful and I am not worried anymore! :)
