For those of you who don't regularly browse the other threads on this forum, here's one that may be of interest about the Disneyland schedule (fireworks, parades, show & ride closings, etc.)

Thanks for the link! I am such a DL newbie!

I remember reading about a couple of useful tidbits....if you have a Disney Visa you can get a free 5x7 picture taken at Ariel's Grotto/DCA by 11:30AM every day. For those of you with the Visa card and staying past Sunday you can get a professional pic wearing your gorgeous castle medal.

ETA: of course you speedy folks will have time to do the half, get cleaned up, and get to DCA for a pic before 11:30. Us slow-pokes might have a harder time!

Another option is similar to the Epcot Innoventions kiosk where you take your own picture to email home (see my sig), Buzz Lightyear has something similar at its exit. I jotted this stuff down a couple of months ago and just found it in my vacation folder, so I am not sure it is 100% accurate, but it is worth checking out. :thumbsup2

I am looking forward to seeing all the WISHers very soon!

I just got Fantasmic balcony seating for Friday the 15th! :woohoo:

Anyone else doing this?

Yep, just got mine for my brother, SIL, and me! I was on hold for 4 minutes and thought I would DIE! See you there!

I finally received my packet last week - I'm # 2757. :teeth: My DH is busily planning his cheering route - using his unicycle, of course! ;) No really, he'll be zipping around on one wheel, cheering me (and any other WISHers he sees) on all along the racecourse.

We've planned a celebratory lunch at the Blue Bayou following the race - nothing like a Monte Cristo sandwich to replenish the body, ya know. :) I'm really looking forward to the WISH meet on Saturday as well. Do we need to officially "sign up" for the meet, or can we just show up? Is the meet at Naples or Napolini?

My long run for this week was 7 miles - my longest run ever! Training is going well, so hopefully I'm still on track for running the entire way. I certainly never believed I would even attempt a half-marathon of any sort 3 years ago when I started my journey to a healthier me - and now I'm going to RUN one. :goodvibes

Have a great day, everyone! Keep up the hard work!

I figured there'd be at least one other WISHer there!

I was also on hold for a few minutes and was starting to panic.

I am starting to get really excited about this child-free trip! Not that I wasn't before...just, you know! :yay:

Hi All - sorry, so busy no time to check on the other thread so figured I'd catch up here. Can't believe it's so near - I fly to England next Wednesday, then agggh, its here. Haven't got my packet yet but I'm sure it'll appear in the next couple of days.

Currently more worried about not being able to travel with my running kit in my hand luggage than anything else - I knew they've relaxed the regulations now but I don't want to carry too much as the screening bods are probably stressed out enough without wading through my top, shorts, sports bra and trainers! I will have to wear my trainers back from London though, I daren't risk losing them three days before the half!!! It's a bit of a concern though as I'm not sure they're 'social' enough to take off on an aeroplane!!! See, another example of how running warps your brain, that was all I could think about when I heard the news - not, 'oh no, how frightening,' but oh no, what about my trainers!!!

Anyway, hope everyone's training is going well. I did my two hours at the weekend, The weather here has been very rainy so I headed out Saturday, got soaked 20 minutes in then turned round, so the next day I went to the gym, run 8km round the outside track until the rain came again then did 8.5km on the treadmill. I'm hoping it's nicer this weekend for my 18kmer.

Anyway, better go as have so much work to do before I go its scary, but thought I'd just say hello, I'm still here. I'll try and check in before I go, or at least in England, but see you all soon. Helen

During our surprise cruise with our DD's over the weekend, DH and I have decided we are not going to make the trip to DL this year to run. I just can't bear the thought of seeing DL without my kids AGAIN. We are also going to WDW for 12 days in November/December and I want to make the most of that time with my kids.
I am not really sad about it, excpet not being able to see you guys, so I know in my heart it is the right decision for us at this time. Best of luck to all in your training and I hope to see most of you at WDW in January '07.

Sarah -- We will miss you! :sad1:

So, how was the cruise? Were the kids blown away by the surprise?

I think I read something about where Stitch takes your picture and either mails it home or available for purchase. Can't remember the details but I think it's in Tomorrowland.

Thanks for the tidbit about the VISA, I think Mom has it so I will make sure we stop by and do it :teeth:

April we need your DHs name so when WE see the unicycle guy WE can yell back at him! LOL

Can't wait!!!! 29 days till we arrive!!!!

After you ride Buzz light year you can email your picture home for free.

Also the stitch email thing is in Innoventions. Its the big round buildig that is rotating in Tomorrowland. Theyhave lots to see and do in there too. Stitch is upstairs and you sign up to meet him. Its very cute very much like the technology used in meeting Crush. He is quite animated and will joke with you if you tease with him. At the end of your visit he takes your pictrue and they give you a card to retrieve it once you get home. Its very worth doing. Its located right next to the Asimo theater (By the way a great show too. I really need an Asimo but my husband said we need a bit more money first. he cost in the millions Im sure.)

Sara, I'm so sorry I won't be seeing you, but I understand your decision completely. I'm always a little blue when I'm at WDW doing races without the kids. As much as I love the races, it seems everywhere I turn there are happy parents with their kids and I long for mine to be with me as well.

Hope to see you at WDW!

His name is Walt, or wnissen on DIS. :teeth: Hopefully he'll be at the WISH meet on Saturday, so he'll know who to cheer for on Sunday!

We got seating for Fantasmic on the 15th for the 9:00 show. I figure with all the sugar I should be able to be a little faster the next day. At least that is how it works for DS.

Lynnda said that she would eat all my dessert instead :lmao: but I don't think that will happen. ;)

Is it too late to sign up for the 4PM WISH meet on Saturday? Somehow I missed this thread. Don't know how, there's a couple hundred posts! :confused3

Terri

Good luck to you all!!! :cheer2:

I'm so jealous. I reallllllly wanted that medal when I saw it at the WDW expo in January, but staying married is probably more important, huh? :confused3

now THAT is a name I'm sure I'll be able to remember even when the blood stops going to my brain (which will probably be mile 6 *g*)

Thanks April! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for him. It will be a little game, where in the world is Walt! LOL Can't wait!!!!! Tell him thanks! Keeping an eye open for a unicyclist will definitely keep me going! :)
