Hi everyone. I just thought I would share this poll I did on a USA forum. I was just wondering if anyone agrees with these figures? We are going in early March for a trade show so we can claim 30% off hubbys and my air and acc' costs.

November, the later the better; but not too close to Thanksgiving, is an AWESOME time to be in DLR. Over the years, I've been twice during this time and the crowds are low, with all rides being walk on. If you pick the right time, you also get to see the Christmas decorations up.

Dec/Jan is the time of year that I've been to DLR the most, over the years. The week leading up to Christmas and over the Christmas/New Year break is usually crazy. One time, all the big rides wait time was 3 hours. I think we only managed to get on about 4 or 5 rides during that day. I prefer Jan, after the holiday period, but that will be when more rides are down due to refurb the most.

I think I've also hit DLR in March twice. Good time to go, depending on when Easter and Spring break fall. I would avoid going during this peak time.

I've also been in the June/July period. HOT and depending on the time, the parks can be more crowded.

We've been in early January ( after the Xmas-New year rush) and October and I definitely preferred January.

We arrived on 4th January and every ride was a walk on for most of the day. We also caught the tail end of the Christmas decorations - IASW still had the Christmas lights up. Yes, there were a couple of rides down but not enough to be major problem.

On our second trip ( mid October) the weather was HOT, we took a break mid afternoon for a swim and went back later but the crowds were VERY heavy on the Friday and Saturday evenings. Magic Mornings were still great though - we accomplished a lot then.

I've been in late Sept/early Oct and January (arrived the 8th), and I'd probably agree with Andona.

January was good because there were so few people! for the whole week we walked onto practically everything. There were a couple of rides down but not too many. Also some of the Christmas decorations were still up, and the holiday version of IASW, and the weather was cool which I prefer (and my neice still went swimming even though it was freezing!). Downside was the REALLY expensive airfare.

Late Sept/early Oct was hotter than I expected but crowd wise was not too bad, especially during the week. Probably the same number of rides down as in January.

We're going in Sept/Oct this time, mainly due to school holiday time here, after summer there, and lower air fares than January.

We have been in May both times and really enjoyed it. Not too hot, and crowds good. Next year we are going mid October so I will be interested to compare.

Mid-January was basically a walk on for every ride. We were there the week straight after MLK Day and it was so quiet. Of course there were trade offs, a few rides were down for maintenance and less shows/parades etc but it was still a great time to go as the weather was generally good (never rained, sunny most days but very cool nights). I think the longest we ever waited the whole trip was 40mins for TSMM on a Friday night when all the locals come down anyway.

I'm glad you guys confirmed winter was quiet. I cant stand crowds. It was bad enough on a slighty busy in october ( and they said it wasnt that busy:confused3)

We where in LA during November last time and it was great.

Basically with our business it's either Orlando in October, or Las Vegas in March. Last time was Orlando. It will be interesting to spend more time in LA & Vegas.

I did early March a few years ago and it was great! I think it's a great time of the year to go, weekends can still be a bit hectic, but week days are perfect :lovestruc

HI

The melbourne 5 have done 2 x DLR in Late June/Early July and another in September.

September was a fantastic time. School/Colledge just gone back in the US. Parks not overwhelming and the Halloween decoration had just gone up. Weather was pleasent if not on the coolish side ( still shorts and tshirt weather though).:woohoo:

OUr june/july visit was hotter, busier but not unbearable. Really good pool weather and we were staying at Grand Californian and got to enjoy the waterslide.:cool2: We actually found Vegas to be the really crowded place on that trip with lots of colledge students on vacation.

we went in november and we found it amazing. most rides were walk ons or with like a 10 min wait max.

the weather was great... just cool/fair spring kind of weather during the day, and slightly chilly at night.

we're going again this time in the first week of dec & we are looking forward to it still being that great :)

We've been twice, once in December and once in April.

I loved the December visit!! Yes, it was our first time... We took the kids out of school early and were there before the Aus an dUS kids were out of school. It was so quiet compared, we went midweek. I loved everything decked out for the holidays and the weather was perfect. T-shirts during the day and a hoodie at night. Felt festive enough for us ;) We got out of town before the Christmas madness. Sadly, our kids are too big to take out of school early now :( They don't want to miss all that fun and with them finishing primary school they want to be there til the end.
