Hi!
Welcome to the best time of year at DL!
First of all you will get to experience Haunted Mansion's and It's a Small World's holiday overlays. Lots of time goes into these makeovers, and they are wonderful.
Big Thunder Ranch over in Frontierland, is all decked out, and has real reindeer too.
New Orleans Square looks incredible too. My all time favorite area of the park all year long.

Every night, there is a castle light show that leads up to the Holiday fireworks, with snow afterwards. This is open to everyone who passes through the gates.

No special hard ticket needed. Same with the Christmas parade. It should perform 2 times a day. They also project light shows onto IASW in the evening.
In all of the resort hotels you will be serenaded by the Dicken's Carolers. They are the best, and are one of my favorite things to make time for.

The best location to hear them is in the Grand's lobby. Also in the lobby is a great hearth with a fire roaring, a huge Christmas tree, with Santa's throne sitting by it. Of course Santa comes to visit and sits in it. What hotel are you staying at?
DTD is also very festive. One nice thing about DL, is the close proximity of everything. You can walk everywhere, which I just love. By staying in one of the resorts, you will walk through DTD everyday. There are different live music acts all the way in the evening. So fun! One difference you will see in DTD, is that there are other shops besides Disney, which is nice to me for a change.
If you call Disney dining, they should let you in on what places will be serving special holiday meals.
I would bring clothes for layering. During the day it could be very warm and comfortable. At nights it gets pretty darn cold. I usually wear a hat, gloves and warm coat. I also bring Uggs, but then, I tend to be cold blooded. LOL!
Have a wonderful time!
