Disneyland at Capacity Tonight!

Please people go in January you will have a great time w/no one there especially if you go on a Mon,Tues,Wed! I will never go when it is packed. I sure don't have any fun at all walking shoulder to shoulder in walls & walls of people! & The lines strech on forever making the waits rediciulously long!

Being an annual passholder for over 6 years now I agree that January is a far less busy month. that has to do with no fireworks, no holiday decorations or themed rides, rain and vacation season being over with. Now I went to disneyland last weekend and it was crowded but if you use a fastpass and plan out what rides are a priority you can totally do it and the fireworks. I have to say that Disneylands Halloween is a cant miss. I am trying to go back at least 2 more times by the end of October. I hate crowds but this is too awesome to miss.
Just my opinion.

I'm sure that the Disney powers that be will be thinking up how they can pack the parks in January really soon, if they haven't already done so.:rolleyes1 It's all about the marketing and they are obviously very good at it. This entire last year has shown that even in a bad economy, if they build it and hype it enough, people will come. I feel for anyone going in the coming weeks. That Halloween fireworks show and SMGG, just really pushed the crowds over the top.

I don't need to be there for the Halloween/Christmas stuff. There's most likely a video you can find on Youtube. But what is the ToT Party??? & Is it done every year??? I love ToT!!! Yeah I've seen those Disneyland Halloween commerciles up here too. A haunted Space Mountain. I'd rather go on the regular version of Space Mountain.

In this case, ToT means "Trick or Treat" -- NOT "Tower of Terror".

Mickey's Trick or Treat Party is held in DCA on many nights in October. It's a separate event and is held after they close that park for the night.

The ride is still the same. They've just added some spooky projections and a different soundtrack. It's nice for a change, and it doesn't disrupt anyone's essential enjoyment of Space Mountain. (Unlike, say, Rockin' Space Mountain, which altered the essence of the SM experience by adding lights inside.)

Monday probably won't be bad. Yes, it's Columbus Day weekend, but many people head home on the holiday Monday.

That said... I have never heard of the Park closing in October, so, I suppose anyone's crystal ball is as good as anyone else's.

P.S. I do not know this for a fact, but am taking a guess...
If you have reserved seats for Fantasmic!, it does not include entrance into the Park. If you were to get shut out due to capacity, I do not think you would get in. However, it is a question I would pose to Guest Relations if you are concerned. Call Disneyland and ask them.

Also at the gate they are passing out the note saying to avoid crowds do this and that at certain times. BUT it says to watch the fireworks over at Small World and they are just as good. This is just misleading as the show is all over the front of the castle and you will totally miss it. The only real viewing is just in front of the castle and the center of main street. If you are even off to the side a bit, the trees have grown so much that it blocks your view.

Last night people were ignoring the CM's when they told them they had to keep moving. They would just stand there. Others were jumping over the grassy area trying to get around the dead end ropes and the CM's couldn't controll them. It was just awful.

We were in the parks Monday the 5th until Friday the 9th, Monday was crowded but manageable, however the crowds just got worse as the week went one. I was really surprised how busy it was. We had to watch the Screams fireworks from all the way down main street in front of the train station, due to the crowd for the fireworks being standing room only. There was people staking out their viewing sport for hours prior to the start of the show.

I was one of those on Friday, and Saturday and then Sunday too. Friday night my friend and I left the kids and her husband at the hotel and arrived back at the parks at about 9. It was insane and without children and strollers and with great stealth we managed to get through the crowds and use a bunch of our previously aquired fast passes and had a great time. Also gave out a few handfuls of fast passes and really made the night of a few families. One family of Mom, Dad and two boys were walking past me, and the boys wanted to go on Ghost Galaxy. The parents looked at the line and said, "no, that is way too long boys". And they started to pass it by. I had been looking for a party of 4 to give the passes out to, as we were passing that area, so it was perfect timing and I stopped them and gave them the passes. They were so thrilled. It totally made my night.

Anyhow, my point here is that even with the worst crowds imaginable, with proper planning it is still possible to have a wonderful trip.

So...anyone have a report from this past Friday???

edited...sorry just found new thread...thanks anyway!!

Just for others who may be wondering this as well, I'm pretty sure it was reported that this past Friday Oct.16th reached capacity as well :scared:. There's a thread lurking somewhere, can't remember if hear or not.

However I too would like to hear people's Friday experience, I may be there this coming Friday - and do expect an insanely crowded day :headache:.

I'm hoping that, once the Halloween stuff is over, the crowds will be more manageable. We're going to be there for the first time in four years from November 2-6, and we're avoiding weekends and Veteran's Day. Please, oh please be quieter! Threads like this coupled with the ones on MiceChat are freaking me out.

I would be shocked if it were still busy then. I would think the first two mid-weeks of Nov. should be super quiet since hours are short, no fireworks, and they will be taking down the HalloweenTime decorations and replacing them with Holiday decorations. Hope you have a great trip!

I hadn't heard that the crowds reached capacity on 10/16, but me and my DH were there that day. We got there when the park opened, and when he left to take a nap at the hotel in the afternoon, he got a handstamp, so it was no big deal for us.

We had a fantastic time in the morning (we got there at opening); there were very few people and we could get fastpasses for rides and then go through the standby line at the same time with virtually no waiting, even for Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday (this was before 10am).

However, the crowds were in effect after about 5pm -- the waits were much longer and it was just more challenging to get around the park in general due the people setting up their spots for Fantasmic and the fireworks. Thank goodness we had accumulated some fastpasses earlier in the day -- we used those throughout the night to get onto the rides even when the standby times had reached 1 hour (Indy and Haunted Mansion) to over 2 hours (Ghost Galaxy).

My suggestion would be to get there early and get the fastpasses in hand for use later in the day. If you're not in the mood for parades, or fireworks, or Fantasmic, use a little of that time to ride the rides you're interested in. If you are in the mood for parades, fireworks, or Fantasmic and you want good seats, settle in early or catch the later showings.

It appears that Halloween Time is a big hit!

I was there tonight. They sent us backstage behind the west side of Main St after Fantasmic and during the fireworks to get out (do they do this often? I'd never heard of it). It was a madhouse, but still fun.
:scared1:

OK, I've done that before . . . the first year Fantasmic opened, they funneled people that way for crowd control.

We are going this weekend. Glad it's not next weekend!

We were in the parks on Friday 10/16 and it was packed. I almost got lost in the walkway by the HM. It was crazy. Talked to some locals and they have never seen it this insane. Thank goodness we had Fantasmic seating else we would have been trapped in the maze of people. We had FP that we collected earlier after picking out our seats for the show were able to do 4 rides. Getting to them was a challenge but there's nothing better then watching the fireworks while on BTM.
