How can a DVC member purchase a Disneyland AP in order to get the discount? Does it have to be in person at the ticket booth? The website makes it sound like you can call and do it over the phone, but when I tried the CM said I had to go to the ticket booth.

I am upset that not only did they raise the AP prices by $50+, but the DVC discount no longer applies to the deluxe AP at all. URGH. So wish I would have looked on DIS last night and caught wind of the rumors about an hour before it happened Frustrating. For 4 people, it is going to cost us $280 more minimum. We have a 6 day trip coming up in November, so we are need more than the 5 day hoppers.

I've only been able to buy them in person. Find something else for the extra day - trip to the beach, Hollywood, Ronald Reagan Library.

We'll probably go again within the year, plus our college son is coming down for the weekend this trip, so we definitely want the limited Disney time with him. We want all 6 days, so we'll probably just end up getting the AP's. Wish they made it easier for the measly $20 off, though!

It's been a few years since we've done this, but we used to get the PH tickets and then upgrade them to the deluxe AP. The PH allowed us to go on a Sat block out date. The down side is you won't be able to get the AP discount on food and merchandise until you have converted. The issue date of the AP went back to the first date the PH ticket was used.

I've done this very thing in the past. Works well. You get full value of the PH ticket applied to your AP.

Thanks! Yes, we did this in the past with some Ebates/Orbitz tickets. Works out well--especially when they did the 20% Ebates rebate! Unfortunately they haven't had anything near that recently.

Do DVC members get any discount off shorter term DL passes? i.e not annual passes but things like 1-6 day entry passes?

No. :( And there are only up to 5 day tickets now, not 6 day (unless you are from Australia perhaps?).

Thanks, thought it was just APs, but worth a check before I paid full price online!

One idea to get a small discount is to register for an Ebates account (free), then click the Orbitz link from Ebates. You will get a small refund back from Ebates, and Orbitz has a buy a 4 day hopper get the 5th day free. Then you can use those tickets to upgrade to AP's if you want. We did that a couple of years ago and it worked like a charm. Otherwise, still a great price on the hopper passes and a small rebate check back from Ebates.

Can I still do this from the UK?
