What is it like in DL and SC the first week in January after New Years week? How are crowds and weather? It seems like rates are a bit lower. Are Christmas decorations still up? Will HM be in operation? When do they close HM to remove the NBC overlay?

Los Angeles Unified Schools are still on vacation the first week of January. So, if you are expecting empty parks with no crowds, that will not be the case.

We visited the week of January 5th this year, and spent one day at the DLH pool. The weather was in the high 70' and low 80's. It was great, but I will say that the temperatures were unusually high for that time of year.
