Disneyland and Comic-Con July 2010 PTR

It only took the 4/5 days for me to get my GAD voucher, hopefully it doesn't take yours any longer than that. It's nice to actually be in possesion of it, you know? Even though we still have so much time before July rolls around.

As for getting the Ent. rate at the HOJO, I would always call rather than trying to book it through their website. It seems like it's real hit or miss online whether it's going to work or not online. I wish the dates I had first picked for October would work for me because they showed up as the Ent. rate. GRR. Why, oh why, can't they give us July yet, lol.

I got my voucher yesterday so it only took 4 days. Yay! I can't print it yet tho, I'm gonna have to borrow someone's printer LOL.

:cheer2: Awesome! I swear, if I print mine out now I'll probably loose it. So it's sitting pretty on my desktop.

Yeah, I'm scared to lose mine to but I just wanted to print out a copy right now. I figured if I lose that I can just print another since I saved them on my desktop as well as sent them to all 3 of my email addresses and my boyfriends email. :rotfl:

Wow, I haven't posted here in a while. I have been reading my 3 Disneyland books. I finished the Imagineering Guide the day after I got it. :lmao: It's not that long, and it has lots of pictures. Then I finished the Unofficial Guide after that. And I just finished the Disneyland Encyclopedia yesterday. They were all really good.

Before, I have not been the one to plan everything on my trips. I only would plan what to pack, what time we leave the house to drive there and what time we leave to go home, which days we will be in the parks, and what restaurants we want to try. I never made or followed ride plans before, we just got there before opening, took advantage of FP, and went on whatever we wanted to go on.

After reading the Unofficial Guide though, I have started making ride plans for this trip because this is first time part of my trip will be on the weekend (Friday and Sunday) in the summer. So I am thinking I need them this time. I have been using the Unofficial Guide's touring plans and just tweaking them a little.

I am also thinking about maybe getting RideMax closer to my trip. Anyone have opinions on RideMax? Is it worth it? I think I mostly want it to play with it. :)

I haven't updated here in a while. Nothing much really going on over here.

Just got the Toy Story and Toy Story 2 blu-rays today at Target for about $8 or $9 each. :thumbsup2 Awesome. And they have codes in them for $8.50 off of seeing TS3 in theaters. So the blu-rays were basically free. :woohoo:

Yay for shopping at Target  And I'm so excited to have TS&TS2 now. We never had either one of them before.

:happytv: Hi Tiffani~ you share my SIL name!

I'm going to DL right before you! I leave the same day you get there! We are going for my b-day this year. It should be fun. Since it's been a year since we've been and it'll be the first time I go in the summer and for my Birthday so I'm really excited! I can't wait to hear more about your PTR. I wish we could have gotten tickets to go to Comic Con but we decided to go just within the last month. DH didn't want to go cause of our WDW trip next month but I told him if he gets presents for his Birthday which aren't cheap! (Swords I tell ya!) Then all I want for my Birthday is to go to DL!

I can't wait to hear about Comic Con!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been here for a while. I just wanted to stop by and share my excitement.

First of all, I am in double digits now; only 93 days until my trip! So about 3 months...I can't wait.

Also HoJo updated their Ent./AP rates today and 2 of my days are included!! I was at work on my lunch when I found out about it, so I called HoJo right there and changed the rate for two of my dates from $95 to $59. Now I just hope they will add my other two dates later. That would be awesome if I got those dates too. I will be watching. :surfweb:

One more thing is that I am excited about the Comic-Con exclusives that have been announced here. I want to get the Toy Story 3 bear definitely and maybe the Ghostbuster figure.

WOW, it has been a while again. Sorry about that but I have not had much news on my trip until now. There's about 51 days left until my trip which is great.

Bad news is that my boyfriend has been out of a job for most of this year so it's been hard to save up for this trip. We've had to scale down some things and cut some things out, mostly table service meals. Somehow we will make this trip work.

Anyway, disneyland.com updated the calendar and my dates are up! :yay: Here's the schedule (the times are the same every day of my trip)

I wanted to update where I am at with the plans. First of all, we had to cut off a day/night from our trip because of money so we will be leaving Monday July 26 in the late afternoon/early evening. Also HoJo added July 25 at the $59 rate so woohoo :cool1: now we have all three nights at the special rate!

Regarding our Comic-Con plans, we have our parking paid for so we should be all set for that.

And OT, but I can't wait for Toy Story 3, I'm gonna go see it tomorrow!

Hi,

My son and I will be going to Comic-Con for our first time this year with my friend. We have been to a number of World Cons and Wonder-Con in San Francisco as well. She has been to Comic-Con almost every year execept in 2008 when she came with my son and me on our first ever cruise on the Disney Magic. We have decided to go to Legoland after the Con because I plan to go to Disneyland with my son during Christmas this year. We will not be able to afford to stay in any of the hotels in Disneyland but, will stay at one nearby. So does anyone have any recommendations as to which hotels would be a good choice? My son is 13 so child care not needed <grin>. I could do a good 3 star or 4 star as long as the cost is not too much. We plan to go for 5 days so we can see everything without feeling too rushed. The last time I was at Disneyland was in the late 70's when I was stationed at George AFB by Victorville, CA. So any good suggestions for our Disney trip would be apreciated.

Can't wait for our vacation to San Diego to start.:cool1:

Are you retired? I'm still in the USAF. :) Over at Davis-Monthan. Anyways we are staying at a pretty good hotel. I've got two to suggest. One is the Park Vue Inn which is right across the street from DL. It's around $110 a night. But usually you get free parking and free breakfast. Also the Castle Inn which is about a 5-10 minute walk to the park offers between $90 and $120 a night to stay there. If you are retired you can get a voucher for the Castle Inn for a discount and Park Vue will give you a discount there if you book from the site.

Radiosprings

So your going the 23rd and the 24th??? I am leaving that day to head to San Diego. :( We won't bump into each other. I'll be there the days your going to Comic-Con I think!

But your schedule looks great! I'm glad they brought back Aladdin!!!!

Hi, so you are going to DL in December? I would recommend the Howard Johnson even though I haven't stayed there before. I have heard a lot of good things about HoJo from this board and I can't wait to stay there for the first time next month. If you go here, you can see the dates that they are offering the Entertainment Book rate. They also offer the same rate for AP holders. That's what I got for all 3 of my nights in July. Have fun at Comic Con!

I will be in Disneyland on the 23rd, 25th, and 26th. I will be at Comic Con on the 24th.

Hi Everyone,

I will check on those hotels. For Legoland I think Will stay at the Grand Pacific Palasiades Hotel and resort. They run $169. a night on all the web sites I checked. It is across the street from the park and for one night it should be fine. Have you seen the Holiday Inn by Disneyland? Would Howard Johnson be better or are they about the same? I have heard good things about the Castle and the CandyLand Hotel as well. I will keep looking.

As for myself I am retired Air Force with 20 years worked 10 years on the fighters then 10 years in CBPO (Personnel Affairs) I am from Chicago but I retired out of Travis AFB in California which is where I am now.

We will drive to San Diego on July 21st and we will stay at the Holiday Inn. Then on Monday the 26th we will check out and drive to Legoland for the rest of that day, stay the night , then drive back to Walnut Creek the next morning. As for Christmas I would like to stay there 5 days but we would fly down. If I had the time and money I would take Amtrek there and back just for the fun of it. I plan to buy my park hopper tickets on the base and find my own hotel. I have been told it is still cheaper then some packages.

Maybe we will pass each other in the halls on the 24th.

Will get back to you all later. Time to hit the bed

24 days until we leave for our trip!

I thought I would update with my touring plan for our day of arrival. Any opinions on my plans would be great as I have never done a touring plan before. I don't know if I am being too overambitious since I have never gone during the middle of summer before so I don't know how the crowds will be.

Hi Everyone,

6 days till we leave for San Diego on the 20th. We will drive I-5 from San Francisco. Do any of you that are local to that area know of an alternate route to take around LA in case there are any problems on the freeway thru LA. I heard it should be OK with a few tie ups here and there. I just like knowing an alternate route in case of any problems.

I am also working on my Christmas Disneyland trip. :cool1:
