Disneyland ADR question

Quick question with Disneyland ADR, I can't find anything for party of 2 at all. However, there's a ton of bookings available for parties of 3. Can I book for party of 3 and show up with just party of 2? Thank you so much.

Yes, you can. The only issue would be something that charges a full fee if not canceled by a certain time there are some character dining options that have this. And of course, things like the world of color, dessert party or the tomorrowland Skyline Terrace experience.

This is something they started this summer. Locking out parties of less than 3 for some of the premium dining packages. Book for 3 and then just check in as a party of 2.

Cafe Orleans
Yes, you can do it at Cafe Orleans. We recently ate at River Belle with a reservation for three. My daughter was going to join us but had something come up so couldn't meet us at the park until later in the day. I tried to modify it on the app, but the same time wasn't available. I went to the hostess and told her that instead of three, we had two. She made a note of it and, when they sat us, they sat us at a table for two.

I book for 3 all of the time, then modify it down to 2. I haven’t tried it with the dining packages, however it works for everything I’ve tried — BB, CO, CC, LL, TS, etc.
Worked perfectly! Booked for 3 @ CO. Got the confirmation and then I immediately modified it down to 2. Thank you so very much for this tip! It's a great tip. :grouphug:

Correct. We did not pay any cancelation fees for showing up as a party of 2 to the Fantasmic! premium dining and we booked for 3.
Same here. The only way I could get F! Riverbelle premium was to book as a party of 3. When we checked in, we told them we were a party of 2 and it wasn't a problem. I didn't change it sooner because we thought my daughter might be able to join us but she had to do Christmas caroling that night (she's a CM).

Yes, I've seen comments about 3>2. I'm asking about 3>1.

My understanding is that as long as one person show ups there is no cancelation fee. This of course could change at anytime. Especially when Disney catches on that people are booking for 3 because they can't get tables for 1 or 2.

Thanks, Christa. Yeah, that's what concerns me, that they might start cracking down on party-size reductions. But hey, there are plenty of one- and two-person visitors at DLR, so they're kinda being jerks by trying to shut out those guests from dining reservations.

As long as the tables of 1 and 2 guests "move" within a certain time frame and then turn over after spending money, Disney will not do anything. I travel solo to Disneyland and always book a table of 3 -- I hardly ever modify I just tell the host when I check in.
My money is as good as the next guest.
