In a semi-interesting fluff piece the LA Times has a story today about what DL might look like on its 100th birthday.

Untouchable: Dumbo's Flying Elephants, Mad Tea Party, King Arthur Carousel, It's a Small World and Matterhorn Bobsleds

Vulnerable: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Peter Pan's Flight, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Alice in Wonderland, Storybook Land Canal Boats and Casey Jr. Circus Train

Possible: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Dueling Dumbos, Barnstormer coaster, Mickey's Philharmagic, the Golden Mickeys, Aquatopia, Lair of the Dragon, Rock Candy Mountain and Rainbow Road of Oz

This is just an excerpt of a speculative article. But its an interesting read. Click the link and let me know if you agree. Personally, "Its a Small World" would be the first to go if I had my say.

The author speculates about replacing Toon Town with a Star Wars Land, but I would rather see Tomorrowland upgraded to Star Wars.

I would also trash Autotopia and the Submarine ride for something better.

I thought it was an interesting article. I agree with a lot of the author's untouchables. Although I would add Space Mountain and Peter Pan as untouchables. I hope I am around and mobile to see Disneyland at its 100th, I will be 78 years old!

I cringed at the inclusion of Sinbad in the "rides they should add" section. I couldn't get that song out of my head for a week after I rode it in Tokyo last summer! D:

I'll be 78yrs old in 2055 as well how fantastic would it be to take my GRANDchildren to Disneyland to celebrate 100yrs!! Looking forward to celebrating the 60th later this year. And I agree, I think Peter Pan should be untouchable, but please please please pull the plug on Small World

I merged the 2 "Disneyland in 2055" threads together. It's a long way off (2055) -- I think that one thread will do!

Also, this topic doesn't really pertain to Disneyland trip planning -- unless you just like to plan your trips really, really, reallllllly far in advance -- so I will most likely move the thread over to the Disneyland Community forum. I'll leave it here on the main DLR planning forum for right now, to let it pick up a few more posters before moving it.
