Disneyland 1/2 Marathon Weekend ** September 2-4, 2011 ** Check-In

I know we don't learn about the new race until tomorrow but Mouseplanet just posted this:

"While some people think they've solved the puzzle and others have just given up in frustration, we can now confirm one thing: the new race will be held at the Disneyland Resort. Disney Sports will provide the rest of the details tomorrow, during a news conference at the ESPN Sports Zone at Downtown Disney District on April 19—hopefully also explaining what all those clues really meant."

Yeah for a new Disneyland race!

How many people do you guys want to room with? It's just me and my mom, but we'd be willing to bunk up. It would make the room that much cheaper. I would like to stay on-site but I guess as it gets closer I'll look in to room rates and stuff. We got the PPH for $199 a night for the Half Marathon in September.

I'm south of you in Martinez by the Benicia Bridge on 680.

I guess as it gets closer we can start checking prices. I'd love to stay on-site since it looks like the race starts right in front of PPH.

The course for this race packed with pixie dust will begin on Disneyland Drive where runners will pass under Downtown Disney on their way into Disneyland Park. The race will travel down the famed Main Street U.S.A. and pass the home of Tinker Bell and her pixie pals, Pixie Hollow, before it makes its way around the Rivers of America. After Disneyland Park, the race will cut through Downtown Disney by the Disneyland Hotel and then it is on to the City of Anaheim. Runners will race through the enchanting, historic neighborhoods of downtown Anaheim, down the Anaheim Center Street Promenade and past Anaheim Ice on their way towards City Hall. Before returning to the Disneyland Resort they make their way through the Anaheim GardenWalk and then into Disney California Adventure Park. Just before a spectacular finish, runners experience the glitz and glamour of the Park's Hollywood Boulevard and glistening Paradise Bay, and then it's time for their “Fairy”-tale finish at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel.

Maybe they're gonna surprise us. We're just gonna show up and they'll tell us to just follow the signs...or maybe we'll have to solve a bunch of clues before they'll let us know.

So they are starting to post videos to decode the clues (boy is that guy annoying). But man, I never would have got any of those so far.

I'm loving the changes in the course!! It'll nice to be able to do something different. I like that we'll be back running a lot through DCA now that the construction will be mostly done.

I also noticed that the 5k is at night!! That is going to be so much fun. I can't wait.

So, thanks to everything I posted on my Facebook about it I have some family members who are interested in signing up now. January could turn into a really good time. Now I just need to find the money to register since I just sent out my taxes.

I was on the reg site this afternoon and saw that you could buy a race necklace too. I wonder what that is going to look like, they've never had something like that before. I can't wait!

Thanks for the link!! I notice you're running the RnR San Diego half in June! So am I!! It also looks like you're running the RI one! That will be a nice race, I wish I could do that one. Gonna sign up for the RnR Vegas when registration opens May 31st!!
