I figured I would finally post my planning journal now that some decisions are being made.

History:
I met my df through my best friend (he was actually trying to hit on her, but she had a boyfriend at the time so she introduced us at her New Year's party). We started talking and connecting while playing a game of Sorry. After a few days passed he wanted to meet up again, so we met at my best friend’s dorm. It was funny when they fell asleep while we were playing a video game and woke up after her roommate entered and he introduced me as his girlfriend. My best friend was shocked and wanted to know when that happened. We dated almost a year and he proposed to me on our Christmas trip after dinner at Ohana's on the Polynesian beach after Wishes. It would have been perfect, except it was freezing and we were curled up under pool towels waiting for the fireworks. Wouldn't trade anything for it though. We have been engaged for 3 years now and finally I am about to graduate so a wedding seems financially possible.

We decided to have our wedding in January since that is when schools are out. I really wanted Dec., however my sisters school would not excuse her for a wedding. January it is. (My mom jokes that she can claim me on her taxes for 1 more year so she's happy ) Since she is doing that she is paying for my dress. We have to pay for the rest. We decided with the 3rd, because it is my grandma's birthday. I figured it was a good day to celebrate. Also I like the number 3, which is a long story involving the Celts.
My dream was to get married at the Poly, however my family alone would exceed the guest max., so doing my research on the dis wedding forum I decided on SBP. I think Maggimus and her pics sold me on it. We both wanted a wedding by the water and that is perfect, too bad no sand. On other hand, that could be a good thing with having a long dress. Been there done that. So right now we are penciled in for Jan. 3, 2008 at SBP. (We can't book yet, b/c of our room situation, we are staying at the new Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas and those can't be booked until June) More to follow soon.

Aww! We are also getting married on my grandma's birthday! too funny.

Same here with the whole beach/Poly wedding... there's no way we could have just 10 people. We decided on SBP because even if there's no sand, you've got the water in the background! What we're going to do is head over to the Poly after the cake cutting with our photographer... gotta get some beach pictures in! That is one of the things I really really want! So if you wanted beach pictures in your wedding attire, that is something to keep in mind! Have fun planning

Congrats!!! SBP is our location as well--it's beautiful! Goodluck.
Also, I don't sign my contract until Aug 1st, but I wasn't aware that our room had to be booked first. I am a bit confused.

Yes, I'm not sure if there are any modifications with the Escape package, but I signed when it was called Intimate. A minimum of a 4 night stay was required on Disney property. So we booked our room, and they ask you for your room reservation number when you book your date. It then gets listed toward the beginning of the contract. HTH!
