Disneygiftcard.com issues?

I've read so many horror stories about the Disney vacation account that I am too afraid to use it. Which makes me super sad because I pinch every penny that I can!

I haven't read anything about disneygiftcard.com though. Has anyone had any issues using it to combine gift cards? Did the process work easily? Did you have to use the card right away out of fear that it would some how be drained after entering the numbers online?

Any reason not to use the site? Not that I have much of a choice since our ta wants our gift cards combined before I hand them over but I just want some reassurance about disneys it department that I have little faith in.

Thanks for any help or info you can offer.

I've used the site. Super easy to consolidate cards. Only drawback is a limit of 1k per card.

Plus it's good to register you cards as well.

Disneygiftcard .com is pretty great.

But you can only "manage" 5 cards at a time, after which you'll need to delete one or more to enter more cards. Deleting a card only removes it from the account, but doesn't delete any funds.

Another drawback is when transferring funds between cards, you can only transfer the entire balance and not some lesser balance.

I use the site all the time to load in, combine, and then delete. Each transaction triggers an e-mail to your registered e-mail address so there is always a record of what you were doing on there, so that is good back-up. But I have never had a problem. My only wish is that they would up the limits for both $ amount per card and how many cards can be in there at once. But as we all know, Disney IT is just silly sometimes.

Never had an issue. The five card and 1000$ limit per card could be annoying though if you have a big trip planned. If you go over that you'll need to create a second account.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. The limit will work to pay for our entire trip so no issues there. If it wasn't for our t.a.s insistence and reluctance to take a gazillion small amount of gift cards I wouldn't use the site at all. And yes I understand the annoyance to her.

I personally have my main GC and add others long enough to transfer balances to main card, than delete those cards.

So time for a resurrection of this thread....

The "Transfer Balance" functionality doesn't seem to be available now. Anyone else having that same issue? I used it successfully just a little over a week ago, now it's not even an option.

Over on the gift card thread a couple of us have been told by Disney they're having some IT issues and are working on it. One person was told they hope to have it back up in a couple days.

ETA: also @Fire14 -forgot to quote you to but wanted you to see what we'd been told :)

Yeah, I sent an email to their "Contact Us" and this is the response I got:

Thank you for contacting us with your inquiry. Unfortunately, the Disney Gift Card transfer functionality on DisneyGiftCard.com is currently down for maintenance. We are hopeful it will be back in operation by early next week.

Please Continue to check the website for the return of the transfer link. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Disney Gift Card Guest Service.
I guess I will just end up calling to pay our bill and read them a bunch of numbers over the phone. "Oh Joy"
