DisneyDirect ?

I received my DD's princess costumes yesterday and of course I ordered the wrong size for my youngest. My question is... can I take the costume to the Disney store and exchange it for one that they have in the store? I'm not sure if they are the same costumes but as long as they are the same quality it woudn't matter.

Yes, if the Disney Store has the same costume, they will let you exchange it for the right size. I had to do it last Halloween. Just make sure that you bring the reciept invoice from DisneyDirect with you.

I tried that with a bathing suit and was told that the store would not take it back it would have to be shipped back to Disney Direct. So I got hit for the shipping costs.

I have returned things to the Disney store, no problem. I have never tried to exchange anything. If you return the item, you don't get the shipping refunded. If you mail it back, you don't get the shipping refunded either, plus you have the cost of the return shipping, so the store is the better deal. It even tells you on the packing slip/receipt you can return it to the store.
Just not sure about the exchange thing....sorry!

I've never had a problem in retruning items from Disney Direct to a Disney Store.

I've returned swimsuits that I got via catalogs (not Disney though)... but many stores don't allow returns on swimsuits at all... I wonder if that was why the DS made you send it back?

I work at the Disney Store and we definitely take returns from Disney Direct. You absolutely have to have your receipt though, even for an exchange. That may have been the issue. You could get store credit or a refund on your credit card. The costumes are so adorable!! I can't decide which one to get my daughter for Halloween.
