Saturday, 10/6/01 Last Day at Disney World or Disneycub Gets a Bargain!!
After the (mis) adventures of last night, I was pretty much dead to the world on Saturday. The only real plans I had were to do a little shopping, and get to the Magic Kingdom to see the Fireworks and Spectromagic. Because I wasnt feeling all that great, I cancelled my second week reservation at the Dolphin. I was ready to come home...almost.
Malcolm and I got in the car, got some gas, and had breakfast at Lenny I mean Dennys. You mean I can get an English Muffin and Bacon, and not be assaulted by all that healthy buffet food?
Actually I have no real complaints about cheap breakfasts. I just hate breakfast.
Went to the World of Disney, and got a few gifts for some friends. Somewhere along the line, Malcolm found me and found a GORGEOUS dark blue suede jacket, with the sorcerer hat and 100 Years of Magic embroidered on the front and back. It fit me perfectly. Malcolm knows me very well and knew that I would just drool over the jacket. $199.00. Of course I put it down, and walked around the store for several minutes before I picked it back up, and went to the counter with it and the rest of my purchases.
WARNING: Disney Magic Alert!!
The CM rang up my purchases and it came to a total of around $71.00 with my Disney Club Discount. What? I have a $199 jacket in there. When I asked him why the total was so low, he said something about me being the 100th customer of the day, and the jacket was FREE. I almost cried. After picking my jaw up off the floor, I signed the charge slip and stumbled out of the store. What a way to end a Disney vacation!
We never made it back to the Magic Kingdom that night. We spent some time out by the pool, where I took some photos of some very fetching people, and had our last dinner at Boma. I was in bed by 7:30 and up around 4:00 am to catch a 9:00 flight back to Denver.
Despite everything that happened, I did have a wonderful time. Im looking forward to my return trip for DISCON 2001 in November where I will hopefully be in one piece.
Ive been almost afraid to run the totals on this vacation, and dont think I will. With everything, I figure I spent close to $5,000. And you know what? Id do it again in a Mickey Mouse second.
