Disneybounding In The Parks?

Just wanted to stop in and say that for my upcoming trip, my sister have planned to dress as Phineas and Ferb, and Silvermist and Rosetta.

My DD13 and I want to do some disneybounding for our trip in 9/14. Like others have expressed, many of the "official" outfits we find to be not very "park friendly" (esp for hot months) For ex.: sweaters, blazers, high-heeled shoes. I'm sure these suggested outfits are not MEANT to be worn in the parks! So we are at the stage where we are looking and picking out ideas that ARE park-friendly and writing them down in a notebook to take to stores with us. I think the suggestion to pick out the theme and base color 1st is a good one. That's what we are doing. We plan on doing as others have said and checking clearance racks, thrift shops and similar as well as pulling stuff from our own closets.

Will be following this thread and hoping others post pix!! As we gather full outfits I will post pix too!

Should be fun!

Ah, ok. Maybe I can find a good lime green paint swatch there and just cut out a Mickey head and have it laminated. Thanks for the info!

I just buy a stack of the lime green paper at any office store. (staples, office depot, office max) You can cut them out by the hundreds and laminate them, or stick them in the luggage tags.

I find the best way to find clothes for it is to just pick up things when you see them, and not try to put something together for a specific character. Elsa was by far the HARDEST thing to find, and I STILL haven't gotten anything Periwinkle, but I found an awesome bracelet & earrings for Ariel last week!

Just wanted to add that etsy is a great place to find unusual accessories for cheap. Found a Raven necklace (Maleficient) and a bow and arrow necklace (Merida) for $5 each, including shipping.

The looks are always cute (but some of those shoes are NOT park ready)

Yah, and a lot of the outfits on Disneybound are much too dressy or fussy and frilly for us. Great inspiration, though!

We go more for comfort.

But I don't know quite where to start...

I think color is the key, along with something that will remind people of the original character. Perry is dead easy, because of the fedora, as my eldest daughter shows:

Phineas and Ferb kept thinking there was something familiar about her outfit, but couldn't quite put their finger on it...

Daughter would have been happier with a long sleeved shirt she could tie around her waist but thought of the outfit too late, so we improvised. It didn't look too bad when the t-shirt was rolled properly, but of course we hadn't quite gotten the technique down for the pics with Phineas and Ferb.

With all that aqua, a CM at the Movie Ride recognized who she "was" as well.
