Disneyband+/Magicband+ for under 4yrs old?

Trying to decide if we really need to purchase Disneyband+/Magicband+ for our littlest sailors (they will be 2.5 and 4 this trip) or skip it this time and save myself $70.

While they do have an adjustable strap that will get smaller for little wrists, we found that when our kids were that age, it just wasn't worth the money. On our daughter's first trip, she lost her magic band within MINUTES of leaving the resort. We did end up purchasing some of the lock/slides that can be found on Amazon, and I highly recommend looking into those if you do decide to get bands.

I’d save the money too, especially for a cruise. I don’t think the MBs “do” enough for a child. You could always let them use an adult’s MB to unlock the door, etc.

They'll be issued oceaneers bands in the kids club/nursery that you just need to return before 11 PM on the last night (FYI the cost if you don't return it on the Wish went up to 25 dollars, I think?)

The only reason I would get one is if you're going to WDW anytime soon as you could use it there. My 7 year old has a MB+ from a WDW trip and she loves it, wore it the entire time on the ship. But it does have Orange Bird on it, so I get her affection for it.

I just got them on a huge sale from the regular shop Disney website a few weeks ago. Fwiw, my 8 year old is TINY with thin wrists. The “face” of the band is such a big circle that it doesn’t bend around her wrist. It’s like a huge flat bulge. I’ll see if she wears it…. I’m not sure if these are the same sizes/dimensions as what she’d get from the ship to go in/out of the kids club or if they are different

The one issued by the kids clubs is a MagicBand 2 which has a (slightly) smaller/thinner "face" than the MagicBand+.

And, to add on to that, would not work on the Disney ships. Those have to be the MagicBand+/DisneyBand+ (not the original MagicBand or Magic Band 2.0)
