Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

I was wondering if anyone has the time to answer a couple of questions I have.

1. So if I sign one of my children up for a class on a day that individual enrollment is allowed I can buy park tickets for me my husband and my other son who is too young to participate?

2. is the art of animation class held at Hollywood Studios?

For some reason this whole thing kind of just seems too good to be true and want to make sure that I am understanding the individual YES program correctly.

THANKS

It does seem to be too good to be true but it works! We did the YES program last June and everything works as stated plus its a great learning experience. As far as your questions, yes you and your husband can get park tickets and almost positive your younger son can too. I dont know about the art of animation class because we were in MK with ours. I would advise you to contact the YES program direct because we did with some questions and they were more than happy to talk with us.

I just have to vent. Checked today and my dates are full. I have been watching, and waiting, because a friend of my husband's works for ESPN, so we thought we were going to get comp tickets. He got them, but they were the wrong ones (expire before we go). I should have known not to wait, and just forget the free tickets. So now it will cost an additional $400 than we would have spent on YES tickets. Plus, DS doesn't get to take the class. UGH! I know...I should not have waited. So frustrated this morning!!

Ok, I have another question...about age. The Everyday Chemistry on the registration page says it starts at age 10. But the program description says it starts at 10. Anyone have any insight?

I'm assuming you typed wrong. Aren't 10 and 10 the same;)

Ugh, yes, stupid me! The description says 9, the registration page says 10.

Interesting.....I'd probably call and ask. I would think the registration page would be right, but who knows?

Is the Homeschool Days the same as Individual Enrollment? No minimum amount of students?

Are there less programs available throughout the year with those?

Do you think they will offer more individual enrollment classes in June? I only see classes for the 29th and 30th.

I am patiently waiting for the release of June and July program dates.

I am waiting for June dates. We went last year and DD, and my husband enjoyed the class. DS (3) and I went to Hollywood Studios while they were at EPCOT.

I think I saw someone previously post that they never offer classes for May. Is that true? What about September? We want to go in one of those months.

They haven't had May dates for individual enrollment in the past, but that doesn't mean they won't this year. I believe they did add September and October in 2011.

I have a question - what if you purchase tickets, then can't make it to the class? Like get sick, leave early due to weather or just miss the bus? Do they make you pay the difference between the YES ticket and a regular one?

We did a class in June and liked it. We're going again in January and there are a few classes available, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea this time. We're afraid of having to leave early or later due to snow, or bad weather and if we end up not taking the class, I don't want to get into "trouble" with Disney.

Anyone have any experience?

Hi, I don't have much information, however, I asked the same question. We also did this last June and it was awesome. We are anxiously awaiting the June dates now for our next trip.
But I would like the answer to this question as well. Although if we go, there is little chance we will miss it.But you never know. :goodvibes

When have August classes been announced in the past?

We're planning a mid-late August trip. If free dining is offered for our dates, we are planning to get a package and stay at POR. If it's not offered I would really like to have the kids take a class and perhaps stay at the Dolphin with a nurse discount.

An additional question... can you take one of the classes if you don't purchase the YES park tickets? I thought I remembered reading if you had APs you could pay around $26 to attend a class, but I wasn't sure if this was an option if you have purchased tickets as part of your resort package.

If you get sick,, you call and let them know. I imagine they could charge you for the difference, but they probably would not if you tell them in advance. My son missed his class in 2010 because of strep, but i did keep the sheet fr om the doctor just in case. As far as weather, the tickets are dated, so if you could be delayed, they probably are not the right tickets for you.

Historically, registration for summerdates begins in mid february.:woohoo:
