Wild by nature on 1/25 is cancelled. Instead we switched to Wild by nature on 1/26 which is a definite, moved Ocean Discoveries to 1/25 which is definite.
We are also confirmed for Properties of Motion on 1/27.

She said they will be sending out emails early next week with confirmations

Well then we will see you on the 26TH! A DISmeet for sure!!! :cutie:

My kids did the program Monday at Animal Kingdom and both said it was okay but didn't really care for it. Neither of them ever want to do it again. The ticket price was good but the class was not good.

I have to say, I was surprised that some people here mentioned that it did not sound interesting, now this...I do like that it has a focus on data collection, which my son has been doing in school, and I thought it just sounded so cool...
What did they do there? What did they not like about it? How old are they?

Are both of your kids going bunkkinsmom? How old are they?

It will just be my oldest and myself. She is 7 and we try to do something each trip just the 2 of us, so this year this is it!! We are looking forward to our morning together!

They did the "Wild By Nature" program and they are 8 (shy of 9 by 18 days) and 13. The special gift is an Animal Kingdom neckerchief/scarf thing. neither one of them liked it.

Great news for people visiting WDW this summer.

I just got an e-mail from Sarah-they are going to have open enrollment again in June and July!

I hope it's for my dates....I honestly may change them if I need to in order to attend.

"Thank you for your interest. We are going to have Open Enrollment dates in June and July. I have not received final confirmation on what those dates are for sure. The information should be on our website as soon as the dates are confirmed. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you!
Sarah"

Now that is awesome! Of course I can't stand the FL Summer heat, but if I can get a good room deal, we might go back!

I talked to Sarah and she said they should make an announcement next week. Now let's hope my kids like the classes.

I didn't even know there was a special gift - do all the programs have that?

That is pretty much my sons exact age ( in fact, if I am counting right they have the same birthday!)
So what did they not like about the actual program though? Was it just not interesting? Too easy/hard? Someone else mentioned that it was cold so the animals were not active, did they not like it because of that? What did they do there?

Am I pestering? sorry....

The animals weren't that active, they weren't getting what they were supposed to when they answered the questions right, and all they did was walk aside from the Safari ride which I was told was boring.

We may be planning a last minute trip. Does anybody know if this program is still open?
I know we are picking our tickets up at the will call window so that shouldn't take much advance notice. They seem to know at this point what all classes will be held next week.
Got a call today that one of our classes did not get enough sign ups, and was being cancelled. LUCKILY we signed up for 3 programs all together, and were able to switch the dates for 2 of them so that we could still take that class on the following day, when it had enough participants.
Unfortunately, we planned it that way date wise because EMH would allow us to take park transport, now I have to check if we have to get a taxi.
Still super excited!!!

Sadly our class got cancelled too. We are going for Homeschool days and htat session is not cancelled of course, but the extra YES program we signed DD up for is. She is SO bummed. It was Making Waves with a Marine Career and the only time it was offerred was on Sunday the 24th. There is really not anything else she is interested in which is a bummer.

Has anyone written a thank you or letter to WDW about Sarah? She has been so helpful, I was thinking of doing so. Do you know where to write?

If a class gets cancelled can you still use your tickets to go to the park?

I am sure you can. It's not your fault afterall. I am going for homeschool days so for us the YES part was an extra so I just got a refund. I can't imagine they would cancel your tickets.

gerberdaisy, I should have known you had it covered. I will send a note, too. I'm sure the poor girl deserves combat pay after dealing with this! I really want them to do it again next year when the whole crew goes again!

DS attended class today at the AK. It was quite cold, so the animal activity was poor, at best. I think there were 10 kids, ranging in age from maybe 7 (?) to 13. DS enoyed himself and I think the 2 CM's did a good job of making it fun despite the lack of animals.

One thing to keep is mind is there is an age range, since families just sign up for a date and program, unlike a school group, where things are more tailored to a specific age or grade.

Julia

HI Julia! It was so nice to meet you at the class! And thanks for sharing about the wedding you attended. I was telling my sister about it and we were both in fantasyland heaven wishing it had been ours. Hope you didn't freeze too much in FL. We ended up getting some warmer weather at the end of the week but I think you were gone by then.

Hi I recognized your kids from your signature. My girls (DD8 and neice 9) did the class too. They thought it was ok. Not really anything too exciting. It was freezing for sure.

Really for others going it is just walking around the park with an animal guide who points out different things and habits of the animals that you are looking at. I was kind of disappointed that we only went on one ride as part of the class. And it was just the regular safari ride. Our guides didn't talk or do anything special but ride with us. But the class took up almost 3 hours and we weren't able to get fastpasses for Everest. Which I guess didn't matter because it was down when we got over there after anyway. But it would be nice if they would give you fastpasses for after. Also the hankerchief, they called it a buff, was a nice idea but I think it could've been something a little better. Not sure what the kids will ever do with it.

My husband and I wouldn't rush back to do it again. The tickets were an amazing savings. Maybe some of the other classes would be a bit more exciting. Still worth it for everyone going. Have fun!
